I worked at Public Consulting Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Was a great place to work until ELT was turned over.

    Cons

New ELT has become a toxic rat-king of nepotism. Outright disrespectful to other employees, even in front of people's supervisors and subordinates, undermining at every turn. Preaches one thing and then does another, one of the worst instances of two-faced politicking I've ever seen. PPL is a sinking ship, stay away!

I have been working at Public Consulting Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great place if new to IT. Outages, bad decisions and short of staff will provide an opportunity to learn.

    Cons

High voluntary attrition rate, low morale, no respect for employees, unrealistic expectations and dysfunctional leadership. This is a "scapegoating" environment.

I have been working at Public Consulting Group

    Pros

Great place to learn, make mistakes, get adjusted to professional life especially as a new graduate. As a smaller firm, analysts are able to take on more responsibility and learn at a quicker rate.

    Cons

Lack of diversity, lack of modernity in the outlook of the management, lack of flexibility, and often a lack of formal communication throughout the organization.

    Pros

Ironically, this is a great place for poor performers. You are pulled in so many different directions there is no way for management to hold most people accountable for what you are asked to do. You always have the excuse of "I was told to stop working on project x and now work on project y".

    Cons

If you take pride in your work, see above...

I have been working at Public Consulting Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This was a great place to learn and grow as a young IT employee Some managers were fantastic and would go out of their way to assist others and grow employees Pay was pretty decent

    Cons

Toxic people, many were in management positions, some have since been demoted but still retained employment here somehow. Culture of blame and jealousy among the IT departments. Company does not seem to have a plan, or seems to change the plan constantly, and this is rarely communicated to the lower levels. Upper level management makes decisions unilaterally and does not seek input or completely ignores input from employees who are going to actually do the work to execute the "vision". In the past two years this company has hired a ton of new managers, directors, and senior level employees, but has done a horrible job of hiring competent lower and mid level employees to actually carry the workload. Lower level employees who are "promoted" are rarely paid significantly more. Change management is running IT into the ground by causing technical people to spend more time filling out paperwork than actually doing something to fix the numerous issues in this company. New directors, at the time that I left, seemed to be pushing the department to implosion.
