I have been working at Public Radio International (More than a year)
Solid brand name, interesting content, decent editors
Slow editing sometimes, pay isn't great (but reliable)
I worked at Public Radio International as an intern (Less than a year)
-Very organized team and leadership
-Opportunity to cover things you are passionate about
-Internships are unpaid (it's public radio after all)
-Not a con to me but... it's a busy newsroom, if you want to be heard, you must be constantly informed about world events and back up your ideas and suggestions with confidence. Not for the reserved or meek, per se.
It is very mission driven. It isn't too big, the staff is great and you feel like you can make a difference.
Not enough trickle down of info by upper management.
