I have been working at Public Service Company of New Hampshire as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy working here because of the peoples. I have worked in 2 different departments and the people have been great in the department and through out the company.

    Cons

Going through a lot of changes due to merger. Management is installing new systems without consulting users and without much training. Gave training after the system was installed causing work delays, etc.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees more and slow down.

I worked at Public Service Company of New Hampshire full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company feels very much like a family. You won't make millions working for PSNH, but you'll make a good living at one of the states largest employers.

    Cons

Being a highly regulated industry and therefore, company, that work ethic can tend to roll downhill. By this I mean, hard work and sticking your neck out isn't always the best strategy to get to the top.

    Advice to Management

Nothing specific. Pretty good company to work for.

    Pros

Advancement in the company is endless and the opportunity to relocate to a few other states is also available if desired. Benefits paid out stem all the way down to staying in shape, working safe, exceeding goals and simple efforts in everyday work life that most times are not recognized in other companies. Technology is always competitive and chaning.

    Cons

Public relations can be overwhelming. Jobs seem to be more abundant in certain company locations which makes it a little harder to find the job you want. This is not really a downside but it is common for employees to have over 40 years in the company and it may have an affect on the growth in innovation or the subject of change in the utilities industry.

    Advice to Management

Keep focus on employee capital development. Overhaul A/R department. Create more employee incentives based on goal setting.
