I worked at Public Storage full-time

    Pros

Great co-workers and decent management. Pay is good with bonus.

    Cons

Bonus structure changes frequently making it difficult to translate your production into dollars. Lay-offs in slow season based on company needs. High-turnover

    Advice to Management

Find a solid bonus plan and stick to it. Otherwise the management was pretty great. Keep giving your team what they need to succeed.

I have been working at Public Storage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Expanding and growing industry with the leading experts and leaders on your side. Job stability is hard to come by these days, but as long as you work hard and stay dedicated to doing your work better each day, you can expect this company to be here. It's a creative environment where you can put your knowledge and skills to the test.

    Cons

Few holidays off (but your PTO grows instead), seemingly-long days (which make them go by fast), and high expectations (which make you a better worker).

I worked at Public Storage full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent work/life balance compared to retail jobs. District Managers and above own company stock, which continues to gain value.

    Cons

Appearance and perception are more valuable than productivity, meaning as long as you appear to be engaged and productive you are considered to be doing well. While there are many very intelligent executives with this company, there are also many "pretend" managers who don't have a clue how to manage anyone.

    Advice to Management

Training or replacement of several Senior DM or Regional managers who continue to drive away top talent because they simply don't know (or care) how to manage managers.

  11. "Property Manager"

    Pros

    Learn multiple tasks and skills

    Cons

Not flexible hours and not willing to work with you when it came to hours.
