I worked at Publicis part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

job was good for the first year

    Cons

I worked here for three years and had a crazy manager who seriously belittled coworkers and fired people with the support of hr. He is no longer there, works for Merck now. HR allowed him to fire 8 people during my employment. I left before he had the opportunity to fire me and a friend of mine took my place-I warned her it would be a good job until he decided it was time for her to go-he eventually fired her as well. I never post on these websites but wish somebody had warned me about the culture of this company.

    Advice to Management

You will eventually have a lawsuit for management practices.

    Pros

Creativity is the name of the game. Generous time off and benefits.

    Cons

Those working in service departments not valued as much as creatives. Weaknesses in management of sections. Some in role are not open to change and growth.

    Advice to Management

Provide effective training for new hires and promote interdepartmental cooperation.

    Pros

It's a great company to work for if you work for the right individual/department. They are currently trying to breakout of the silos and promote growth within.

    Cons

Currently going through many organizational changes that are effecting many of it's employees.

    Advice to Management

    Stop outsourcing jobs so much.

    I worked at Publicis full-time

    Pros

The benefits are good. There were certain perks for working in advertising like free products depending on the worksite. The benefits were on par with other organizations of its size. The summer event and holiday party were great.

    Cons

There was no real career development or training programs available at the time. The performance management system was a farce. The culture in the shared service org Re:Sources was completely different than the ad agencies under the Publicis umbrella. In Re:Sources the management seems to be stuck in the 1980's in terms of policy and employee engagement. There was absolute NO work life balance AT ALL.

    Advice to Management

Performance management and employee development should be more of a priority with a much easier system and clear goals and objectives. Culture should be consistent across the Publicis footprint. Ops employees should not be made to feel as though they're a necessary evil.
