I have been working at Pure Storage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Customers love the product / Partners love selling the solution / The people who work here are top notch / Management is caring, smart and lead by example. The strategic plan for growth is sound and careful execution is the priority.

    Cons

Hyper growth phase means it is busy. Employees must make their own work/life balance a priority so as not to burn out. Advances in diversity and inclusion are needed so that all people are represented and not just the majority of straight, white men (but that is the problem for most IT companies at present).

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. The product is excellent, the strategy is on track. The The Company has a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion which has excited employees. Like other leaders in IT, the company has a commitment being as diverse and inclusive as possible. Executives are committed to not just having a great product, but to make sure the company reflects its customer base and is diverse and inclusive.

    Pros

Exciting new technology, challenging and stimulating work. Fun work environment; when Sunday roll around, I honestly look forward to starting my work week on Monday.

    Cons

Pure Storage is a startup; sometimes long hours are required.

    Advice to Management

    They feed us too much!:-)

    Pros

Everyone involved has a clear idea of where we're going, and that's a great plus. Management is clue-full, the work environment is excellent, and generally this is one of the best jobs I've had in multiple decades of experience, with everything from nine-person startups to the largest tech companies in the world.

    Cons

The only caveat I have is that Pure is a startup; we're working hard to get product out the door on the VC's dime. If you like startups, great, and if you don't like startups, you won't want to work here.

Opportunities like this are rare. Great pay, great benefits and an amazing future. Upper management has vision and the employees share in the rewards. The question ins't will Pure succeed, the question is only how brilliantly.
    I am betting on very.

    Pros

+ smart people (conversations flow easily)
     + great product, selling quickly
+ high investment (time, money) in the tooling needed to make engineering run smoothly (automated testing, modern compilers, git, etc.)
+ good amount of autonomy - management has a light hand - without chaos
+ few meetings: 1 stand-up per day, 1 team meeting / 2weeks, all hands every week
+ management is open with employees about company direction / status - speaks plainly (e.g. review board deck every month)

    Cons

    - Gain weight because of all the free food

I have been working at Pure Storage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pace is amazingly fast, the people are genuine, and the product gets prospects fired up. There is a strong sense of team that crosses geographies, and a commitment that I see every time I engage with senior leadership to continue to make this a great place to work.

    Cons

For me it is not a downside, but I would say that if you don't truly thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure (constructive/motivating pressure, but pressure nonetheless) environment then this probably is not a good fit.

Exceptional talent at every level, in every position
Leading edge of a transformation in the industry - makes it fun to meet with customers
We solve customer problems, not just sell storage - very gratifying

I have been working at Pure Storage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Outstanding leadership
A great start to a phenomenal culture
An opportunity to build a phenomenal brand for Pure and yourself. . .all while building personal wealth

    Cons

It's moving so fast we aren't taking time to "smell the roses"
We are growing so fast we may be prone to making some mistakes.
There may be too many former EMC employees joining; however, if they are not of the classic mold, we should be fine.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing by hiring top talent, building a strong culture, and providing transparent, candid communication.
