-Pure stopped benefit people who work harder than others; - Pure stopped promoting employees internally, a lot of fake formality around the HR process to complete it - No more perks like travels to Moab, food snacks etc - less and less pay compared to their competitors - poor implementation of new CRM system that hugely impacted our customers globally and lowered their satisfaction

Free lunch and dinner, though it's usually some gross slop take out. The company is located on Castro Street so there's a bunch of lunch options.

Pure has gone IPO and now it's going to have difficulty justifying the below industry base pay and lack of bonuses to its employees. Flash storage is a commodity market and it's a race to the bottom so don't believe the hype around stock options. The senior management are recycled from your typical storage companies like EMC, Netapp and HP, and like to talk about radical transparency, but the reality is that Engineering is playing catchup on basic storage features like replication. They just happen to be in a business where the competitors are more incompetent than they are. It's rapidly getting bloated (look at the burn rate) and they will have a hard time hiring talent from other more innovative Silicon Valley companies. They also love to hire and fire but it's usually about drinking the kool-aid. Being a good engineer who questions the way things are done will get you fired.

Pros

- competitive pay (I have had several other interviews for TSE positions that haven't been worth accepting) - good coworkers, this is pretty irrelevant to a company, but has been the case - provided food (catering and snacks/drinks/cereal/soggy sandwiches/salads in break room) - employee stock plans (stock awards + employee preferred purchasing 15% off) - has decent benefits (vision/dental/health/hsa) - there is somewhat of a push to progress to higher positions (though infrequent upward movement takes place - not what they tell you in interview of a 6 month expectation rapid progress) - time off is generous (unlimited within reason, with 2 weeks head's up, after approval) - learning takes place in the first 3 months, then becomes very routine

Cons

- pay increases are very small and inconsistent (around 3%, only start happening after a year, even then not everyone gets an increase) - position adds new work to role, constantly (could good or bad, but usually bad - as more work is added while not usually being fun or interesting) - management is a quite corporate and meetings are either great or dreadful, depending on who you get - bad workers are kept around - undeniably a job
