I have been working at PwC as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing people and company culture; challenging yet flexible work environment - frequent travel but also have the ability to work from home; compensation competitive with other consulting companies for internship

    Cons

    - The pace of the work can be inconsistent - sometimes you're super busy and other times it's slow. But, that seems to be the nature of consulting.
    - The experience wasn't long enough! I don't want to leave to go back to school!

I worked at PwC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, great people, fair compensation. Promotion track is pretty straight forward.

    Cons

Employment based on individuals in your start class. Despite the statements related to the firm caring about employees, it has proven that this is not the case. PwC hires employees to fire employees. When more work is available they hire based on meeting the need with the intention to fire employees when there is no longer a need.

Although your performance reviews may be solid, if the individuals that you start with have stronger reviews your job will depend on their rank compared to yours.

Introverts beware, if you are not involved with activities within the firm your career will suffer tremendously.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to develop and expose all employees to varying environments. If employees want different exposure help develop careers to this exposure.

I have been working at PwC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The career is very stable and progression over time is almost guaranteed. You also get the chance to have early client interaction compared other areas in accounting.

    Cons

The progression is very predictable and being a large company there are a lot of politics. Promotions can be based on performance but are more focused on need.

I have been working at PwC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I've worked with some very intelligent people and I've learn a lot on the job. I've gained a lot of experience in a short amount of time.

    Cons

I've experienced some projects were we are so over extended that we received very little support from subject matter experts. Also, during the interview process they mentioned that we would only have to work long hours during busy seasons however they do not tell you that you are in busy season 12 months of the year...

    Advice to Management

There is a lot of talk but very little walk about improving the work life balance.
