I have been working at PwC (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Leadership, especially at the partner level, seem to appreciate upward feedback and input. There is a lot expected of you as an individual, which is exactly what you need to kick start the rest of your career. The network you build can be a huge asset as you progress throughout your career (of course, there can be an over-emphasis on this). Thinking back at my nearly 3 years here so far, I can't imagine getting anywhere near the types of experiences anywhere else.

    Cons

Knew what I was signing up for, but there needs to be opportunities to work local. Being on the road more days than at home can be extremely taxing on relationships so enforceable flex travel or more market-based staffing would drastically alleviate the excess turnover. In addition, while the new cohort system and performance review process may change some things, there is still no reasonable expectations for getting a high rating / bonus. You literally have to dedicate your life to work to get ahead. Imagine working 60-80 hours / week on client work and then having to find time for another 5-10 hours / week for internal practice "reinvestment" and client proposal development. As an associate, I was able to secure several client engagements worth a couple million, but was dinged during annual review because I didn't have enough "reinvestment" hours.

    Advice to Management

Improve flexible travel or enable market-based staffing for those that NEED it. You'll save on travel expenses, save marriages, and be able to better deliver services that connect you to the markets you server. If other firms have built an entire business model around this - it can't be that challenging for a firm considering itself in a "Category of One". Lastly, pay staff based on real market rates - not those you make up. Don't compare against other boutique firms, take a look at where your employees are going (e.g., Fortune 10-50 companies) and compare salaries at that level if you want to compete.

    Cons

nothing in particular that comes to mind. had a very positive experience so far and would recommend PwC to every person who wants to apply and looking for a consulting experience

    Advice to Management

Keep up the positive attitude and outlook. Invest in training, promote your best employees, provide competitive compensation and rewards, invest in infrastructure, keep up the open door policy to senior management

I have been working at PwC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast growing company, with lots of opportunity.Hardworking people, very team oriented, promotions are given to people who earn it not much is based on how much you're liked. Frequent and honest feedback is encouraged. Very good work life balance and based on how hard we work. Complete detachment is encouraged during PTO/Vacation.

Utilizes new technology such as Goggle Mail to attract younger professionals. Great office party. Promotes physical and mental health.

    Cons

Its hard work... which is not a con but if you're not a type A leader kind of person you won't succeed or at least you won't succeed rapidly.
Sometimes management can get really busy so its hard to communicate but to counteract this PwC encourages reverse manage. Meaning lower staff can give feedback to upper staff and it isn't held against you because promotions are based on work quality. Very much a people life, but quality and numbers do not.

No really cons. I love working here. I'm doing what I love with plenty of options to try other things.

    Advice to Management

Continue to encourage reverse feedback, but make sure the feedback is being heard and change being made
