I have been working at PwC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent flexibility, great benefits, great time off (if able to be used).

    Cons

Firm needs to invest in better technology for searching/utilizing internal resources. Firm could also be better at competitive pay. Not nearly enough for the Bay Area when compared to industry, leaves little desire to stay.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in employees

I worked at PwC (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Met great friends working at PwC. Though the long hours can be tiring, you certainly form a bond with your co-workers through the process.

    Cons

Good work experience if you want a profession in accounting. If you think you'd like to go into finance down the line, stay away.

    Advice to Management

Make incentive compensation more meaningful. Unless you want to make partner, there is little financial incentive to be top rated instead of middle/bottom rated.

I worked at PwC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Great client relationship building opportunities
    2. Industry ranging experience
    3. Colleagues work hard and are down to earth
    4. Opportunity for good, technical writing
    5.

    Cons

    1. Stuck in a conference room most for hours, weeks, days or months at client sites
    2. Mundane, uninteresting subject matter across the lines of services of audit and tax
    3. Long hours during busy season, which can last for months (sometimes half the year)
    4. Multiple, competing client engagements
    5. Travel required to client sites

    Advice to Management

Foster career growth and development by truly understanding that 1st year associates straight out of college may not understand what they got into and if they express other interests or passions, support that exploration and development

    Pros

You will learn a ton! Great growth potential. Awesome people. Fast paced, interesting, never bored. Fun team events.

    Cons

Not the best salary. Busy season is rough! The client you are booked on & the team you are placed on can make or break your experience with PwC. Note: Not a con, but the San Jose office specifically is VERY fast paced because there are a lot of public clients. Other offices may have a better work life balance.
