I worked at QBE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This company is the type of company you want to retire in. Excellent work life balance, great management, amazing 401k plan with company match, good PTO

    Cons

I really think this company was great but transferring to a different team was difficult. I left because I wanted to gain more knowledge in reporting.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at QBE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are nice and the pay is good.

    Cons

The systems are not integrated so it takes a long time to do your job. Most of your job is bogged down with administrative clerical work because of the processes and work flows being undefined or undeveloped. People are not promoted from within the company.

    Advice to Management

Look at another operating system for claims that integrates workflows that are progressive and less time-consuming. Promote from within and capitalize from the skillset of current employees. Define claims processes and talk to claims department to determine what works and what doesn't. Create more opportunities to work from home.

    Pros

Company has amazing benefits and provide flex schedules. They also just instituted a more casual attire policy.

    Cons

Very siloed market segments. They are currently trying to fix this.

I worked at QBE (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers, great benefits, great salary.

    Cons

If you are on the West Coast, East Coast or in the Midwest, you may have a difficult time finding a service position as most of the service jobs have been moved to The Phillipines. With the shifting of the business model, the majority of West Coast branch offices are being closed causing employees who have been with the company for a long period of time to lose their jobs.

I have been working at QBE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Variety of career opportunities if you work hard and are willing to take on additional work, great people (some of the best I've ever worked with), developmental roles, flexible environment, experience with changing organization, global company

    Cons

changes in direction often without seeing through previous decisions, change in leadership, at times low employee morale but that is starting to improve, change fatigue and difficulties globalizing make for a challenging employee experience

    Advice to Management

Consider the downstream impacts of a change fully before implementation, take time to plan before starting something, believe in the people working for QBE. Outsourcing isn't always better.

I have been working at QBE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The employees are really nice to each other and management actually listens to your suggestions and affairs. They are flexible with your working time and are understanding to emergencies.

    Cons

Not the best paying company. You can move around in the different areas of the company but its really hard to go up career wise as a professional in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Try to match the salary of the employee to their responsibilities at work. give opportunities to different people inside of the company instead of trying to outsource when a hole is left behind.
