I worked at QBSI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Great sales training.
    -Established products.
    -Decent amount of potential mentors.

    Cons

Their approach to selling is archaic, and they use outdated technology. Especially as it relates to sales management, document distribution, and processing. They are a Xerox company and weren't using digital signature technology...

    Advice to Management

Overhaul your tech and replace it with things that actually function from a sales process perspective. Stop forcing sales people to make cold calls on garbage lists, invest some money...

    I worked at QBSI full-time

    Pros

I started my sales career here as a sales rep and found it to be a perfect intro into the profession. Hard work is rewarded and I was promoted to exciting and challenging roles. Supportive and fantastic upper management. They truly care about you and your customers. Could have easily spent my full career there.

    Cons

Tough job. A lot of cold calling and accoutibility. It is an environment where you are expected to do your job and middle management will help get you to the next level.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing the right things. Do your best to help the sales team deal with the natural stress and difficulty of their job.

    Pros

QBSI is a great company to work for! The first thing that will stand out is the company culture. Middle management is very supportive and willing to show you the ropes. They are also professional but still manage to keep it fun. I would say that the people here are awesome! They have amble training available and help you better yourself and grow as a business and sales professional. The opportunity to grow in terms of monetary rewards is also there if you are willing to work for it. Overall just a great place to work, learn and be successful.

    Cons

The company is open to hearing about issues and issues are typically resolved quickly. In my experience, I didn't run into anything that would deter me from working for them.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and keep investing in your employees!

    Pros

The company culture is extremely great! There is a ping pong table for all of the reps to play on and take some time away from their desks.

    Cons

The sales cycle is this industry can be taxing and the process of cold calling on the phone are less than desirable, especially when you're on the phone all day.

    Advice to Management

It would be good for you to value your employees hard work and have incentives to keep them around, especially in such a taxing environment.

    Pros

base salary is fair. Upper management is very good in terms of who they are as people and it makes them tolerable in high stress sales situations.

    Cons

territory management and constant changes within middle management mean that the tools at your disposal have no consistency.

    Advice to Management

make a plan and stick with it and support your employees with consistency.

    Pros

    Xerox is a great product

    Cons

Management by intimidation. One day they may have their sales structure figured out. Rotating VP of Sales position (4 in last 6 years) is non-productive.

I worked at QBSI (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Access to a name brand product line. Training.

    Cons

This company is mid manager heavy and micro management happy. If you want to be treated like a 3 year old, this is the place for you. A good place to maybe cut your teeth for a year then move on to a company that has respect for it's employees. Xerox is well known for being a big battleship, a lot of firepower but incredibly slow to turn. It is not a healthy work environment. No work/life balance and people that can think and act for themselves don't fit in here. You really need to drink the company Kool-Aid to make it here.

    Advice to Management

I would give management advice, but they wouldn't take it. It's been spelled out hundreds of times before in this venue. If Xerox is going to be a leader in the next 50 years, they had better take the tack of other technology companies and make a healthy, respectful work environment that rewards inspiration and creativity. Without that, they will go the way of the dinosaurs. I would be shocked if they continued on the current course if they lasted 20 years without going bankrupt or being bought.

All the way up the food chain there is no ego and a lot of humility. Everyone is willing to help to make it a better company and a better place to work. The leadership takes and active participatory hand at every level.

    Cons

Not everyone is quite on the "Customer Service" bandwagon

    Advice to Management

Keep the wheat and let go of the Chaffe
