I have been working at QED Group LLC full-time

    Pros

During this very uncertain time with federal budgets and priorities, QED is taking stock, making investments, and re-positioning for future opportunities. As many have said, the staff is committed and wonderful to work with; a great team environment where everyone thinks creatively to achieve goals. Work-life balance is valued (rarely an evening or weekend email). While the core of our work is in monitoring, evaluation, knowledge management, and learning, there's an interesting mix of projects in various sectors and regions.

    Cons

As QED has successfully transitioned from small to mid-sized, some systems remain a work in progress (but it's improving).

    Advice to Management

Stay true to the values that have made QED a rewarding and enjoyable place to work. Continue to invest in internal systems and communications. Actively connect staff globally as QED grows.

    Pros

The junior and mid-level staff are excellent. They work hard and most of the time get recognition for a job well done.

    Cons

Leadership is erratic at best. The vision of the organization is foggy and the lack of focus burns out the staff.

I worked at QED Group LLC (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting sectors that it works in and with knowledge management it is the best in the field. Their KM team is very professional. They hire smart people who all seem to eventually figure QED out and just what its weaknesses (and strengths are). Formally they had a great office location and physical workplace. Former VP (now CEO) works as hard as anyone there and seems to be a nice person at heart.

    Cons

Wandering weak brand and sectoral focus. May be that has improved ... they recently did their website and it looks much better. Their former CEO was a nice guy but aloof and not the right person technically for the position. The new CEO knows the place from the ground up and is an improvement. Some very sr staff have reputations for being very very unkind and harsh to colleagues.

    Advice to Management

They seem to have gotten wise and have their founder and owner more involved in building their brand and reputation. They have a great HR VP and the new CEO is very smart and as hardworking as they come, let us hope he matures and mellows like a fine wine. He will then be excellent at his job,

I have been working at QED Group LLC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Dynamic and growing company. Excellent staff and very collegial work environment. Great opportunities for upward movement if you stay and stick it out. Jeff Singer, current CEO is a good example of growing through the ranks.

    Cons

Can be stressful at time. Alot of competing needs at times. There are days when i am not sure if my work is being noticedd.

    Advice to Management

Engage with employees more. Maintain more pro-active communication and tell us what is going on
