I have been working at QUETEL CORPORATION full-time

    Pros

Very knowledgable development team, great hands on latest technologies with a team know what they are doing. Code review and architect discussions that expand your mind in different aspects. Health care coverage and fair promotions

    Cons

Strict schedule! You have to be at 9 and you never leave before 6:30
Office is boring, location sucks, not much vacations, you only take Xmas, new year, thanksgiving, and 4th of July.

    Advice to Management

Change the office culture and it would become a great place to work.

I worked at QUETEL CORPORATION (More than a year)

    Pros

They are a small team, small workforce and the owner is quite wonderful. Unlimited time off.

    Cons

They work long hours. Expect a lot from you. There are literally no software processes in place. Instead of releasing on milestones, they release on customer promises. Instead of a build server, they have an old laptop that does the build. They seem to let employees go quickly, with no review or notice. There is no scrum or agile methodology and they are very relaxed about work requirements, even though they expect a lot. No bonuses and no salary bumps. Since it is small, there is no upward momentum either. Very little communication between the team as they all tend to stay to themselves.

    Advice to Management

Become a real software shop. Don't sit in between or none at all.
