I have been working at QVC part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Clean comfortable work environment. Employee Discounts. Enjoyable long term customers.

    Cons

Point system is a nagative, cold and uncaring supervisors, company doesn't care about giving our customers SERVICE, it's all about the call time and not about being of service or helping a customer find what they want. Supervisor says give them two tries then tell them to call back when they have an item number.

    Advice to Management

I understand it's all about the bottom line $$$ however, if you try to help a customer, it is a negative point if you go over your expected time for a call. Many customers are elderly and need assistance locating a product or just want to hear a friendly voice and time is not allowed for this. You just want to turn em' and burn em'. You have a recommended greeting "phrase" but supervisors tell you you do not have time to say it because it's all about the length of the "call time ". Many customers call for information only but time is not allowed for that. Supervisor says it doesn't matter if we make a sale or not, it's about the call time.

I worked at QVC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people (everyone below the Director level)
    The discount

    Cons

Right now QVC is in a total state of confusion. One day they are "a unicorn", and the next they are "the same as Amazon". The product selection has really deteriorated. I'm not sure they are doing enough to win younger customers or retain younger employees, who realize there is better out there once they get a peek behind the curtain. They seriously lack homegrown senior leadership, which is essential to maintaining the culture. Some managers and directors won't allow anyone to work from home.

    Advice to Management

Clean out the deadwood that you have floating from team to team just because they made it to Director level. Realize that the employee survey is not that accurate as some in Management have told their teams what to answer on all the questions.
