I have been working at Qdoba full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Progressive pay, they're willing to move you up quickly and take pride in promoting from within. There are opportunities to make decent money here if you're willing to grind a little bit. Benefits really not bad. Decent tuition reimbursement program. There are definitely considerably worse places to work.

    Cons

It's a food service job that requires you to be nice all the time, even if the person across the glass is treating you like a piece of garbage. I'm not sure how well the higher ups have it, as there has been considerable turnover in management at the store level (multiple stores, not just mine), but also at the district level over the last couple years. Makes establishing a structured environment for lower level employees confusing and somewhat disorganized. There are certain locations that will burn you out quickly if you work there.

    Advice to Management

Work on keeping stores well-staffed. Develop a solid team of Managers to operate your stores so there is more consistency and better work-life balance for your team.

I worked at Qdoba part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job paid good for teenagers, might be hard to get by if you support yourself.
30 minute break every day with 50% off food (free if training).
Fun work environment, I'd get everything done and have down time until it was time to close.

    Cons

    Inconsistent schedule.
Crazy hours, i worked at least 30 hours every week so I didn't really have time for friends or family.

    Advice to Management

People have lives, you can't expect a teenager to work 35 hours, especially during the school year.

I worked at Qdoba full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Ability to learn and advance

    Cons

Growth without properly developing the management bench needed to sustain said growth.

    Advice to Management

Development of a stronger Management Development program for hourly employees, eliminating any politics associated with advancement selection for multi unit management positions.

I worked at Qdoba full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There is nothing positive about working fur this company.

    Cons

You will work your rear-end off. If a shift needs to be covered, you will be working it. 45 hours a week? Not going to happen, more like 65. Corp office can't decide what they want to do. Trying to have stores run like a fast food restaurant. Too many gimmicks, focus on good food and service. Low pay and long hours. The bonus structure keeps changing. Parent company Jack in the Box keeps changing things to be like a QSR plus 3 presidents in 4 years, not very stable at the top. The list goes on and on, to make it easy for you just keep looking and don't work here.

    Advice to Management

Executive management needs to get its act together and quit oversimplifying things for those in the field.

I have been working at Qdoba part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun and has training in multiple areas

    Cons

Being fast casual and having most food actually prepared there rather then other places being more close to fast food, it is possible to "run out of something" while on line as a server so you may be at risk for having to deal with angry or dissatisfied customers

    I worked at Qdoba part-time

    Pros

Relatively well run franchise, good introduction to customer service, good first job before heading off to college. The best part was having an excellent manager who was willing to work with my extremely busy scchedule.

    Cons

Not a job in my desired field, slightly above minimum wage, limited room for promotion and/or transfer. Very tiring and customers can be, and often are, irritable or irate.

    Advice to Management

Would institute a better system for dealing with customer complaints and interactions. Some customers would complain just for the sake of getting a free meal coupon, which is obviously very wrong.

I worked at Qdoba full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Pay and benefits were good

    Cons

Politics, favoritism and arrogance prevent any real growth. Both for the company and the employees.

    Advice to Management

    Need to walk the talk.
