I have been working at Qkids full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Straight forward Application process and easy interview process

    Cons

Race Biased. Makes sense since most of the ESL companies I've worked with in Asia prefer Caucasians to represent their company.

I have been working at Qkids part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I've worked for many online ESL companies (including the big well known ones). Qkids is hands down the best. Immediate bookings Good pay Really laid back cancellation policy (you just request off in the app) No props or outside rewards needed No need to write feedback

    Cons

There are some tech issues and glitches, but they're quick to respond. They are really strict about your internet and what you ping, which doesn't really make a difference in the classroom.

I have been working at Qkids part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Honestly, too many to name. -Perfect for stay at home parents, college students, or anyone who loves teaching -Mutual respect between the company and their teachers. -RESOURCES. When you're hired, the platform is filled to the brim with resources for you to explore. -The Coaching and CC teams are friendly and so ready to help. -Their constructive criticism is incredibly useful. -The platform is engaging -The students are the sweetest -The smartphone app that holds your teaching schedule, payment info, and communication channels with your coach and CC teams. -Flexible "request off" policy -Supportive FB groups for teachers

    Cons

None of these are cons for me, but might bother some other people. -Base pay of $16 per hour, with bonuses can be up to $20 per hour, which is a little less than other companies. -The hours are early and late in the day, especially during summer and winter hours, which can be a little intense.

I have been working at Qkids part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I love the platform. I lucked out with them because they are also one of the best companies to work for - no props needed, attentive staff (MOST of the time), assigned coach (not terribly helpful though) and easy renewals. The kids, though, the kids. I have heard horror stories about the parents but mine have all been great, and I have taught 500+ classes. The kids are awesome, adorable, funny, clever, respectful and endearing. I love Qkids, but I think I'm going to have to leave them...

    Cons

They are bad about removing schedules after posting them. Right now, I am relying on this company for an income, but I could go anywhere. I have five interviews scheduled with various ESL companies right now. I don't want to leave. I adore Qkids, but I need to have bookings! I accommodate their requirements, so for them to then remove the classes I had planned on (and too late for me to schedule hours with someone else) is not fair. When you write the scheduling staff, they don't replace the classes. They tell you that you have to accept invites. But who has that kind of time to lurk around hoping to get an invite? If I am not guaranteed hours, especially now, I need to find hours I can count on, so I am not going to just hope for invites. This is so unprofessional and inconsiderate. I believe they are prioritizing new teachers, because I have a near perfect rating, a graduate degree, an ESL certificate, teaching experience over five years, and have worked for them for a year and a half. I am not the only one this is happening to, either. For reference, check the various Qkids facebook pages. I found seven complaints just last night on one FB page from teachers who were on their second and third contracts! They should be prioritizing based on seniority and qualifications. Why are you "urgently hiring" if you can't assign your current teachers hours to fill their empty schedules? If you have teachers with open schedules, you already have too many teachers!! This is a huge problem.

I have been working at Qkids part-time

    Pros

None to Review for this company

    Cons

QKids Exposed! Think before you apply. If you are black or latino, they will discriminate against you. They hide behind technology and can get away with covert racial discrimination and bias. I had other black people tell me they applied to this company and were denied a position. There is a reason why they want applicants to complete a so-called video intro so they could use this as a hiring tactic. They are racists!
