    I have been working at Qlik full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Colleagues are exceptional - kind, genuine and very skilled (especially "old-timers", 4+ years, many now leaving/left).

    By far the best company I have ever worked for the first few years (started in 2012).

    Product & technology.

    Cons

    Communication is and has always been terrible.

    No more yearly summits or even regional events - beyond the salary, what more do employees have to look forward to?

    Thoma Bravo (new owners) has seriously wounded the company - at least in the non-R&D departments (namely Finance, HR, Marketing).

    Culture and Swedish values - once alive and well (at least in Sweden) are now dead and buried.

    Open & straightforward, move fast, teamwork for results, challenge - once real and tangible, has now entered the realm of meaningless corporate messaging.

    Deaf management - critical issues and solid suggestions for improvement are often ignored until things really hit the fan, often many months or even years later.

    Leadership, or lack thereof - now just figureheads for Thoma Bravo, have zero credibility.

    Now key focus is on headcount/operating profit/squeezing every penny out of people with zero regard for the long-term and often with disastrous consequences as a result - an example, one person on the payroll team left voluntarily, however a decision was made to spread their workload among the rest of the team without hiring a replacement. Within 6-8 months, everyone on that team burned-out and all 4-5 people all quit or went on sick leave and had to be replaced without a proper handover of duties - seriously stupid, way more expensive and totally foreseeable.

    Advice to Management

    If Thoma Bravo wants to protect their investment, return the focus to the people and go back to the roots - this was what made Qlik great. And forget about outsourcing higher-level work to low-cost countries like India (they are totally hopeless, you just can't see it from up there) - it is always vastly more expensive than on paper.

    Pros

    Flexible work style in Radnor.

    Cons

    Long term people no longer believe Lars when talking about culture, like right before cancelling last major cultural event (Academy). Communication is terrible. Open and Straightforward is lost – stereotype of corporate culture has taken over. Nod and smile.

    Terrible morale in mgmt under Finance, IT and HR, resulting from leaders X-team put in place. None have a clue about true culture, and a lot of micro-management. No interest in learning about employee concerns, as employee survey was permanently removed. This week’s RIF has removed those responsible for corporate ops and made morale worse for those who remain, trying to hold it together. A lot of experienced back office people looking for next job.

    Corporate bonus structure redone last year, then not followed at year-end, with no explanation. Back office evaluated on revenue and profit margin they can’t directly control, while Sales shows little to no cost control while making commissions.

    Advice to Management

    Lars used to talk to us, now he reads from a script. We do the same right back to you. Get back to open & honest, and have leaders who actively support their people - all the rest gets fixed.

    Pros

    Good solid core values and a company with a lot of heart and a lot of good people.

    Cons

    This company cannot seem to get out of it's own way. GTM strategy is constantly changing. Favoritism is rampant.

    Advice to Management

    Pick a real strategy and then execute on it, don't continue to quit and move to a new strategy like a child who's bored with a toy.

    Pros

    Management is strong and the product does exactly what it is designed to do. Semi- Quick time to market. Very fast

    Cons

    Poor team leadership. Cost is in not in line with current solutions in the market place. The self service model do not exist. Extremely developer centric.

    Advice to Management

    Spend more time in research and design. The technology is becoming quickly out dated for what is available in the market place today

    Pros

    Ability to work on new projects and provide input on process improvements makes team work more interesting. The company in Radnor provides tons of free food and snacks.

    Cons

    Executive management will never be seen anywhere, ever! America's shared services argues unprofessionally constantly and not even HR will address it. HR is a giant joke among everyone. Turnover is insane, the company is getting bought out from public to private, do yourself a favor and stay away from Qlik.

    Advice to Management

    It's too late to give those guys any advice. They will be getting plenty of it very soon from the new owner!

    Pros

    Low stress, nice people (who you might not be able to relate to). Good salary. The non-american offices can be fun.

    Cons

    This is an established mid-size tech company. The average age of people working here is maybe 45. There are a lot of starched shirts and khaki pants - too much. It is super corporate. The culture DOES NOT EXIST in the California office, much of the time it is empty. People do not hang out, and if they do it is uncomfortable. Although the job itself is low stress, working here gave me a real existential crisis. Not much there there.

    Advice to Management

    Get real, you are now Oracle. The Swedish soul has left the building.

    Pros

    Amazing Product - very forward thinking - innovation is high- looking beyond the now to the future.
    Starting to make acquisitions to fill gaps
    If we could just fire the leadership we'd be killing it - great people work here but they all are giving up and moving on
    Customers are awesome they love the product - shield them from executives and they are happy

    Cons

    Comp plans are ok if you're making your number. Less than 20% are making their number. Most are at 50% of plan or less
    Marketing - There is none - there's supposed to be a grand new plan but it never materializes - We were leaders in our space now people think we've gone out of business because we don't do any marketing
    Employee annual review process poor- allocation of annual merit payments is arbitrary - if you're one of the favorites your fine
    Americas sales management leadership is terrible - Oracle old boys club- if you're not one you're not part of the team - and not getting promoted
    Turn over is huge and HR does nothing to change that - they are all part of the network supporting the bad leadership
    The board is taking too long to take action.

    Advice to Management

    Leave now so we can be a great company again - you are killing Qlik - go back to Oracle where you belong
    To the Board : please demand change now before its too late we love Qlik and want to stay but enough is enough.

    Driven environment that requires a lot of learning.
    Remote working and not that much travel.

    Cons

    Post IPO, not too exciting. Management is always coming down on you.

    Get back to basics.
