I have been working at Qlik full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Sick Time/Vacation Policy Life/Work Balance (especially if you have kids) Work From Home People Product 401k match Pay/Benefits Company events Opportunity Incentives - I won an IPad my 2nd week here for filling out a survey

    Cons

Since being acquired by Thoma Bravo, there have been considerable management changes and restructuring, but this happens at every company that gets acquired. The whole process has positioned Qlik to continue to be successful in the future.

    Advice to Management

    Bring back merit increases.

I have been working at Qlik full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Competitive product once in a time and still rich customer base in high end segment enterprises in EMEA where they had original HQ.

    Cons

Fragmented organization through hard restructuring for Thoma Bravo profit supremacy. Harder competition against Tableau and Microsoft PowerBI leads to high turn over of sales after their gold rush season when they enjoyed organic double digit growth. Because of high turn and siloed organization + very poor problem solving management layer who think escalation = messaging only and never get the things done... proactively, now you need to move out all blocks and stones by you own on your way, like marketing you need to watch your leads followed by Inside sales and then by field sales. Your hard work never be rewarded by Thomas Bravo salary cap strategy.

    Advice to Management

Communicate detailed growth plan rather than R&D plan or profit plan for Thomas Bravo. Build cross functional discipline and teamwork culture. Do employee survey to hear front line voice rather than middle management with less strategic mind.

I worked at Qlik full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Platform Play Great Technology Leader in Gartner MQ for years

    Cons

Qlik was a outstanding place to be as a sales professional through the end of 2016 when PE company Thoma Bravo bought them. From that point forward, the culture and company took a complete nose dive. 1- or the top 14 executives quit, left or were removed several times in 2017. CEOs have come and gone and the internal working of the company just hit rock bottom. From there, they thought it was a good idea in... 2018 to revamp the sales model (again) and close every HUB office worldwide where hundreds of people lost their jobs. Beyond that, many field sales professional were let go last month just because of their geographic location. Qlik took no regard of pipeline or results and made decisions based only on geography. With that, lots of prospects and customers found themselves (once again) without a sales person and frustrated beyond belief. The phone keeps ringing and customers continue to say they cant get anyone to help them. Its just sad really. Advice to any sales professional is to WAIT. Do not join Qlik right now. The company will be sold again in the next 12-18 months and you will find yourself making no money in 2018 and the unknown in front of you. If you want to be part of this technology wait until that hashes out and then make the decision.

Not even sure what to say. You had claimed you wanted to listen and you even flew many of us out for a listening session. Then you cancelled it and took us to a dinner where nothing was accomplished.

I have been working at Qlik full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Cool Product, Interesting co workers and subject matter.

    Cons

Poor Leadership and a lot of turnover. Layoffs coming in early 2018. New CEO is a bean counter planted by the Thoma Bravo. Has zero people skills, views the business as an equation.

    Advice to Management

I honestly don't know, but what you are doing sure isn't helping.

I have been working at Qlik full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Colleagues are exceptional - kind, genuine and very skilled (especially "old-timers", 4+ years, many now leaving/left). By far the best company I have ever worked for the first few years (started in 2012). Product & technology.

    Cons

Communication is and has always been terrible. No more yearly summits or even regional events - beyond the salary, what more do employees have to look forward to? Thoma Bravo (new owners) has seriously wounded the company - at least in the non-R&D departments (namely Finance, HR, Marketing). Culture and Swedish values - once alive and well (at least in Sweden) are now dead and buried. Open &... straightforward, move fast, teamwork for results, challenge - once real and tangible, has now entered the realm of meaningless corporate messaging. Deaf management - critical issues and solid suggestions for improvement are often ignored until things really hit the fan, often many months or even years later. Leadership, or lack thereof - now just figureheads for Thoma Bravo, have zero credibility. Now key focus is on headcount/operating profit/squeezing every penny out of people with zero regard for the long-term and often with disastrous consequences as a result - an example, one person on the payroll team left voluntarily, however a decision was made to spread their workload among the rest of the team without hiring a replacement. Within 6-8 months, everyone on that team burned-out and all 4-5 people all quit or went on sick leave and had to be replaced without a proper handover of duties - seriously stupid, way more expensive and totally foreseeable.

    Advice to Management

If Thoma Bravo wants to protect their investment, return the focus to the people and go back to the roots - this was what made Qlik great. And forget about outsourcing higher-level work to low-cost countries like India (they are totally hopeless, you just can't see it from up there) - it is always vastly more expensive than on paper.

I have been working at Qlik full-time

    Pros

Once upon a time Qlik was a great company with smart colleagues. Yes, once upon a time...

    Cons

Everything has changed very much to the negative since the acquisition of Thoma Bravo (new owner - horrible, very horrible!). Here are a few facts why you should decide working against Qlik - And if you still work at Qlik, at least now you should look for a new job, if you do not already: - Regular layoffs have become standard. There are regular layoffs globally. Around 500 employees were made redundant in... January. All talented top performers were let go. - The next layoffs are coming soon. - The whole company sinks like the Titanic, unfortunately. - Management has not got clue what they are doing - No direction strategy - No career progression - High turnover of employees - No work ethics - HR is a joke and lie in your face (especially in Barcelona) - They pretend "core values" - but there is no values - Disappointed customers and partners who lose trust in the company - On top of all that: Every month wrong calculations in your payslip. Nobody takes responsibility for it and you have to run after your money - Nobody can explain the commission plan because nobody understands it Anyone who is still considering Qlik as an employee should seek an alternative as quickly as possible.

I worked at Qlik full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

When I joined more than five years ago they still had a great culture. The product had started to fall behind the competition at the time but Qlik Sense was the beacon of hope. Met one or two exceptional leaders.

    Cons

The culture took a nose dive with the appointment of several field and inside sales managers/directors who were largely incompetent and highly prone to nepotism. The product then fell massively behind the competition. Qlik Sense was released later than originally promised and very basic when it came out. It started improving but the competition was even better. Qlik is definitely a tier 2 data viz vendor at this... point. I hear a lot of people blaming Thoma Bravo for the negative changes but the rot had started long before that. It's just gotten much worse since the acquisition. Another major issue was the inability of the organisation to decide on its channel strategy. Management gave one message to Qlik sales people and another to the partner community which caused plenty of totally unnecessary conflict. This was largely down to the aforementioned incompetence rather than negative intent.

Try to be more secure and less arrogant as a management team. Until you do the only affect you're having is one of mass demotivation.

I worked at Qlik full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Occasionally decent work life balance - Nice office - Good product

    Cons

I write this based on working numerous years at the company and I am thankful I left. This is a genuine reflection about the company's bad practises. - Terrible management and leadership - you will be first to be fired when the business experiences bumps. The management have no clue what to do and are busy protecting themselves or drinking cakes and champagnes until it begins to hit the fan. - Terrible ownership... (Thoma Bravo) - No career progression - Promotions based on favouritism - Wrong people get fired while those who are good at covering their backs continue to make a living not contributing much - Recently fired their own successful CEO Lars Bjork - Number of key people left as soon as Thoma Bravo acquired. Seems like a good decision as there have been mass redundancies. - Thoma Bravo - not great owners This is not a good company to work for even though the product is good.

I worked at Qlik full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice colleagues Free fruits and beverages

    Cons

Ever since being privately owned by Thoma Bravo they kicked out the CEO Lars Bjork and brought its friends along leaving the Qlik spirit to none. Huge layoff recently of 500+ people and constantly in changes. Avoid.
