I have been working at QuEST Global full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good starting job, learning experience. Good people. If right out of college, great place to start. Work stable in certain areas. Friendly people you will work with.

    Cons

No movement. Management team not interested in paying or move you up ladder. If younger person, usually taken care of and older person, like me bypass you on everything

    Advice to Management

Need to pay more and give the older experienced people chances like the younger people. Very unfair

I have been working at QuEST Global full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Unlike most of the competitors in the area, QuEST will work to find you a spot if work is cut by the customer. A very uncommon practice for contracting work.

-QuEST is growing rather rapidly in existing centers and into new areas.

    Cons

    - HR department for all for North America is ran by essentially 2 people. All employee issues are outsourced to India. Frequently respond or "fix" issues incorrectly or ineptly. Very little ability to actually contact someone to work the issue. Heads of HR recognize the issue, but flat out admit they will not change the structure.

-Very little advancement opportunity. You can either latch on with the Customer, or attempt to venture into management; but they do not make that easy on anyone. Pyramid structure of advancement is flawed, and ever changing requirements make it rather difficult to understand what is necessary.

-Very high turnover among employees and management. Mostly due to workload and/or pay.

    Advice to Management

-A slight monetary investment in your employees would do wonders for turnover rates; especially when employees can use QuEST as essentially an internship to build experience with main customers.

-Invest in a larger HR department. At least 1 individual per location would be great, so that employees can actually contact someone directly to handle an issue, rather than rely on India personnel who you have no way to contact directly, or by hoping your manager will handle this case.

-Establish very clear guidelines for advancement, and provide people that information early, so they can work to it.

    Pros

They give you 15 minutes of work and somehow you have to make it last all day. Boss is nice.

    Cons

Boring. The job requires you to constantly be looking for new work to stay busy. Days last really long. Not bad gig.

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good. If I remember, there is short term disability, AD&D, life insurance with Aetna, 401K match. Work environment is one that encourages process improvement and you'll do well knowing programming to automate tasks. A lot, if not all engineers are paid hourly due to billing hours with customers, so the schedule is very flexible most of the time.

    Cons

Based in India, and one side effect is there is no room to move up. It is also sometimes difficult to work with an HQ in India and you're bombarded with emails. Many engineering positions don't require critical thinking or much of an engineering skillset at all.

    Advice to Management

Get on projects that will be rewarding to employees. Keep being flexible, it makes up for a lot.

I have been working at QuEST Global full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedules, relaxed dress code.

    Cons

Management is terrible, benefits are terrible, pay is low. There isn't anything in place to help employees grow technically, the only growth currently is managerial.

    Advice to Management

Focus on developing and keeping the current employees instead of using a proactive hiring method because of attrition. You wouldn't have so much attrition if the current employees were happy with their job and their compensation.

    Pros

If you are looking for a place to network this is it. The company does a good job of balancing work and life

    Cons

Lack of training and guidance from management. no clear path to understanding job. First few days are a drift with nothing to do.

    Advice to Management

Get better plans in place. Allow people to train and listen to them. Some one hired them for a reason so it might be worth it spend a bit of time hearing how they want to make QuEST a better place.
