I worked at QuEST Global full-time

    Pros

Nice coworkers, great work hours, get to learn a lot from many challenging and interesting projects

    Cons

Company's survival depends on big OEM's to outsource. If they pullout, employees may face layoff or unpaid leave. It's really stressful.

    Advice to Management

The center management is perfect. But the corporate level management needs to value employees more. Also, they need to make sure customers respect Quest engineers.

I have been working at QuEST Global full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great flexibility and good work/life balance. Standard hours, but can change if needed to accommodate personal life. If you want to make it at this company you must personally and actively look for work to get noticed. Not a horrible place.

    Cons

Not alot of room for growth here. Transparency between corporate and project centers are something to be desired. Basically you will not move up in the company unless somebody else leaves. If you want a job where you can be easy going and laid back, this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Improve personal communications with your employees.

    Pros

    Allows opportunity to gain experience.

    Cons

Twice in one year of working for the company my pay was erroneously withheld and I had to fight for long periods of time to be reimbursed. Your job and hours are also in no way secure. Do not leave a full time and dependable job to work for this company.

    Advice to Management

Following labor laws and solving problems in a timely manor are basic functions of business.

    Pros

Great first job or job if you have already retired. The benefits are good, the pay is below average, the culture is pretty cool, HR is a joke.

    Cons

If you are a manager at this company be prepared to have zero support. Employees here do and say what they want.

    Advice to Management

Those who know better do better.

I have been working at QuEST Global full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are good. It's salaried with overtime which is pretty nice, but they have a flat OT rate for all employees.

    Cons

The customer decides your work load, Quest doesn't really care about you. Pay isn't very competitive compares to industry standards.

    Advice to Management

They are too driven to make money and don't care about individuals.

    Pros

They give you 15 minutes of work and somehow you have to make it last all day. Boss is nice.

    Cons

Boring. The job requires you to constantly be looking for new work to stay busy. Days last really long. Not bad gig.

I worked at QuEST Global full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good. If I remember, there is short term disability, AD&D, life insurance with Aetna, 401K match. Work environment is one that encourages process improvement and you'll do well knowing programming to automate tasks. A lot, if not all engineers are paid hourly due to billing hours with customers, so the schedule is very flexible most of the time.

    Cons

Based in India, and one side effect is there is no room to move up. It is also sometimes difficult to work with an HQ in India and you're bombarded with emails. Many engineering positions don't require critical thinking or much of an engineering skillset at all.

    Advice to Management

Get on projects that will be rewarding to employees. Keep being flexible, it makes up for a lot.

I worked at QuEST Global full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a great place to begin working in the aerospace industry, or automotive industry depending on your geographic location. I learned many new skills during my time there, and was given a certain amount of latitude to function independently on a regular basis. However, my position was highly specialized, and I consider myself very lucky to have been located at the customer location (United Technologies Aerospace Systems) approximately 95% of the time.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the company is Indian owned, and it shows. The employee homepage, employee weekly emails from the company, and many activities were centered around India operations. It became clear to me after nearly 2 years of working there that if you do not move up the chain of command quickly, or get hired directly by your customer company, your choices are limited, and many employees feel trapped in a position beneath them. I left the company after attaining Team Lead status for almost a year, and it was very obvious that despite my requests to upper management for training and extra incentives for my employees, their hands were tied, and were unable to advance their employees careers.

    Advice to Management

Put pressure on India operations to keep hiring great talent directly from universities, and invest a significantly higher amount of money in further training and educating employees.
