    I have been working at Quad/Graphics full-time

    Pros

Great insurance, company picnics & holiday parties, 401k match, lots of overtime during busy season. Gym, clinic & cafeteria on site.

    Cons

Poor management, pay isn't good enough for the work, standing for 10-12 hours. Barely any hours or no hours at all during off season. Huge turnover rate

    I worked at Quad/Graphics full-time

    Pros

Paid Weekly. Most of the year there is enough overtime so that you can survive. 401k match (until they cut that benefit again). Steel toes company has yearly $50 reimbursement (until they make it two years again) Learn one of the operator positions and it's a good stable job.

    Cons

Negativity. Leaders. Work Schedule. Rotates nights to days and both ends of the week several times a year. Training program isn't implemented well, while corp keeps changing it. They pay of the low side compared to other types of production facilities, because in printing the competitive bidding on work contracts has caused us to not make very much per job like they used to. The raises are pathetic. They had more benefits before, like OT started at 36. That got cut, now it's after 40. Most of the extra benefits that offsets working in an unhappy facility diminished over time because the company is trying to stay competitive.

    Advice to Management

Don't even know where to begin. You wouldn't listen anyway. You can talk about the Quad Values wheel all day long, but it doesn't matter because on the production floor it's not reality. There is a reason Quad has such a high turnover rate. It's negative. It's a negative place to work. Mgmt focuses on bad stuff, never when it's good. Raises are pathetic because we have to look good profit wise to Wall Street. But CEOs aren't taking a hit. You are giving your production employees 10 cents, 25 cents. Production is were WE CREATE THE PRODUCT. If those machines don't move, you make no money. If we treated the guy at the bottom better, production will rise. But you don't. And you never will. You can hire an acquisition/retention specialist all day, but not enough changes are happening fast enough. I know we are making changes for new hires especially. But what about the veteran operators, your experience keeps walking out the door and it's killing us.

I have been working at Quad/Graphics part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible work schedule when Part-time.
Don't have to only do 12 or 6 hour shifts; have 10, 9, and 8 hour shifts to choose from when Part-time.
Great for someone going to college.

    Cons

    Not guaranteed hours when Part-time.
Only get a 20 minute break when working 6, 8, or 9 hours.
    Gets really hot during summer.
Don't train new employees that well.
