I have been working at Quad part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great place to get a foot in the door in the industry, and they have quite a few long term technology employees which is rare these days.

    Cons

Little will transfer to other position because of proprietary software.

    Advice to Management

Open source and industry standards are good!

I have been working at Quad full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Steady employment at Wisconsin plants. Comprehensive benefits plan. On site child care, medical, dental, and fitness centers.

    Cons

The printing industry is contracting and forcing many unpopular business decisions (plant closings, layoffs, equipment and infrastructure spending cutbacks). Creative destruction is in full swing and the corporate leadership is struggling to re-shape the company for long term survival. Younger employees will find it tough to move up the ladder.

    Advice to Management

Good luck with the task at hand. I know you guys are trying hard to keep Harry's values and principles intact as the company attempts to transition to a 21st century economy.

I worked at Quad for more than 10 years

      Pros

It used to be a good company it no longer is. Do not apply here. Do not consider a job here. You would be much better off flipping burgers at McDonald's. They will use you abuse you and then dump you. I cannot even count the number of tenured employees that they forced into retirement or "restructured" all so executives could get bigger bonuses. So if you want to give your money to the executives then work here.

      Cons

Upper leadership is pompous and arrogant. They keep taking away from the average workers and keep giving more benefits to the executives.(at the expense of the regular workers). Directors and above get large bonuses regardless of company performance. This is why they keep "retiring, or restructuring long term employees. So the select few can benefit from all of the regular workers hard work. They keep taking away from...
