I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It offers opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies for cellular network. The group is great and very conducive.

    Cons

There is limited growth opportunity due to large groups. The projects are too large taking years to finish, before you are assigned to a new project. I feel compensation can be improved.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A lot of opportunities to learn. Good overall culture. Great benefits, especially for mid to higher level employees.

    Cons

A bit too much hierarchy. Management seems to have grown a bit too comfortable with their advanced position and could perhaps be more aggressive.

    Advice to Management

The company is a great shape but has to be more aggressive, requesting more of the employees in terms of innovative contributions to continue maintaining their advance technological position.

    Pros

    Good compensation. Decent perks.

    Cons

Managers take the final review call even if other peer reviews are excellent. So you have to keep your manager updated which each and every small thing.

Too much power in hands of managers.

Provide clear mission statement and execution plan to managers, who communicate it to their subordinates.

I worked at Qualcomm full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, fun events, on the leading edge of wireless technology.

    Cons

Unless you're an engineer or management and directly contributing to the bottom line, you are not as valued. Benefits and perks used to be much better. Company culture has diminished as the head count has increased.
