I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Unfortunately, There is nothing good about Qualcomm

    Cons

    Everything is worst .

    1. Salaries are less according to industry standards
    2. Their health insurance is just worst since deductibles started on HSA
    3. Lot of politics in management.
    4. Server SOC team in Raleigh is worst with bad management

    Advice to Management

First, Qualcomm should train managers. Managers have zero respect and zero appreciation for employees. Specially Server SOC physical design team in Raleigh is worst among all Qualcomm teams. I advise anyone to stay away from this team. I regretted my decision to join them 10 years back. Work balance is zero. You have no freedom on weekends. And at the end, managers will bite you in reviews with worst ratings. Really, nothing is going on good here. I am surprised, such a big company has worst management in history.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Challenging work and ability to work on leading edge tech / devices. It's cool to be able to buy a gadget that has the chip you worked on.

    Cons

Work and life balance can get crazy. Schedules are tight. Schedules are king.

    Advice to Management

Overall, everything is good. Management should get rid of poor performers more quickly. It's a bummer to have to work with someone who clearly doesn't want to be part of the team.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The best reason to work at qualcomm will be the work culture and the flexibility of working hours. Also opportunities can be easily grabbed if people are passionate enough.

    Cons

Off late the compensation for the work done is not very good and the review cycles have also been cut down from half-yearly to yearly which is pretty bad .

    Advice to Management

compensation and recognition is what keeps the employees with teh company apart from the work satisfaction. so it might be better to address this issue.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As hardware companies go, Qualcomm is a good place to work. First, a lot of FTEs get their own office. It is so good for productivity and lack of interruption to be able to shut my door and not hear other people's conversations. This alone is a reason to work at Qualcomm as versus another hardware company, or even one of these nouveau open-concept software companies.

    Cons

It's a major corporation and can be crufty. I hear the pay is not as good as other places, but honestly I feel like I'm paid enough.

    Advice to Management

Pay fairly, cut projects when they're dumb or dying instead of letting them bleed out.
