I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good company. Values employees. Health benefits not so great anymore. Great work life balance. Should embrace modern requirements like work from home which is not that good here.

    Cons

Health benefits went down last year and is below industry standards. Work from home is not allowed in general and makes it inconvenient during pressing times.

I worked at Qualcomm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent and well organized company. Great employee support structure and excellent benefits. Life balance company that supports communities and charity. Company encourages strong cooperation and in my experience colleagues were very supportive. A large corporation with a small company feel as divisions tend to run independently. State of the art equipment and communication- very up to date work environment. Definitely the best company I have worked for.

    Cons

It would really be hard for me to come up with any negatives based on my 3 years at the company. I'll just talk about their expectations and some history while I was there. Qualcomm does expect most of its employees to be resourceful, independent and hard working. There was a round of layoffs back in 2015 with many of the divisions, as the company was doing some consolidation and focusing more on core businesses. Its not easy to get into this company, they tend to look for the very best. I was fortunate enough to be networked in.

    Advice to Management

Honestly, I have none. On the whole, management at all levels communicate well and are responsive. In fact, they go out of their way to help you succeed.

I worked at Qualcomm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Qualcomm really values their engineers and tries to keep them happy. Even when upper management makes decisions that might not be the best for the engineers, the lower managers will do their best to argue for the engineers.

    Cons

Company is growing and slowly turning into another corporate behemoth with all the things that come along with that - less care for individual employees, more focus on profits and less on products, and slower reactions to the market or to changing workplace conditions.

    Advice to Management

Qualcomm has grown because of their ability to attract good engineers. Don't lose that for the sake of quarterly profits.

I worked at Qualcomm full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies
Opportunity to work some incredibly smart people.
Good Mentors to help you grow professionally (depending on your team/division).
    Good Benefits.
Decent Salary. Better than average benefits.

    Cons

Work/Life balance could be an issue. Particularly during "bringups" and other shipment deadlines.
Upper management can be disconnected from reality sometimes.
Career growth slower in remote sites compared to San Diego.
(For Software Engineers), your skillset might stagnate if you are not careful about choosing your work.
Decisions can be political. (Affects mostly Sr. Staff and above).

    Advice to Management

    - Work on employee morale (beyond namesake efforts such as climate surveys).
    - Ensure fair review process, with some type of "ombudsman" to redress employee issues. Although systems are in place now, most employees do not trust them.
