I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

San Diego is a really nice place to live.
They pay for housing, relocation etc.
Great company campus, gyms, restaurants, etc.

    Cons

The company is going through difficult times.
Work life balance is difficult to achieve at times.
    Uncertain future.

    Advice to Management

I am not qualified enough to advice the high-level managers, but it is obvious that the company is going through difficult times. I hope it works out best for everyone

I worked at Qualcomm (Less than a year)

    Pros

The projects I worked on were actually used in their products. It's great to know your work during an internship was put to use. The work was interesting but not overbearing.

    Cons

Not much either than I could've probably been given more work to do.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really great experience, got to work with many very interesting people and on some cutting edge stuff. San Diego was also an amazing place.

    Cons

Company was going through some rough times. Words of layoffs and restructuring around the offices really put a damper on the whole experience.

    Advice to Management

Not much, every company goes through stuff like this eventually, but the great companies come out of it better than before. Only time will tell for Qualcomm.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed work environment. Nice people. Every flavor of lacroix available in the break rooms. Great experience as an intern. People are more than willing to help teach you, if you ask nicely.

    Cons

Projects tend to be mundane. Tools are unmaintained or nonexistent for working with any software that isn't the newest version. Documentation is nowhere to be found. There is a general sense of acceptance that 'this is the way things are', and 'thats someone else's problem'. These attitudes are both contagious and damaging.

    Advice to Management

Patents may have built the company, but its going to take more to save it. Stay close to what you know best.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, excellent housing: fully furnished luxury apartments with housekeeping, amazing location (San Diego), many programs for interns such as lecture series, home room, potluck etc.
Generally relaxed work culture for interns

    Cons

Some interns did not get to choose a team (they were directly hired for a particular team). So some of them were stuck in teams whose work they did not find interesting.

    Advice to Management

Only the digital design and software interns get to pick their team. It would be great if other interns (Analog, Test, Product) also got to pick their teams.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Freedom of thought process
Very nice work environment and work culture
Get to work with a lot of smart and talented engineers

    Cons

The time when I was interning was when there was the news of layoffs and so sometimes the environment within the office was gloomy.
