I worked at Qualcomm as an intern

    Pros

Excellent housing and compensation package provided to interns. Very good mentoring program - never felt like I was being pressured, but still was able to contribute to 'real' work. Good program for moving into a full-time position.

    Cons

The lion's share of the company's official attention appears to be given to groups that work at the main San Diego campus. Groups that are in other locations (even if still in San Diego) can feel a bit isolated.

I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

A very good place to do internship. The housing they provide to interns easily touches $3500/month! :)

    Cons

The intern events are on facebook; but I don't have one!

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people, great teams. The culture is relaxed. As an intern, I would say it is a great place to gain experiences.

    Cons

Again, as an intern who worked for only 3 months, I was not able to get a sense of the disadvantages working in this company.

I worked at Qualcomm full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked residential IT prior to the internship, was placed in a technical position and started learning how to support an enterprise. Personally, I had great management support and felt I was placed in the right area.

    Cons

There are a lot of meetings with different groups of people. It can be extremely hard to follow someone not in your line of expertise.

    Advice to Management

IT departments are hesitant to make an offer after an internship, unlike other areas.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Qualcomm has a great internship program. They flew us all out and paid for our living expenses, and also flew us out to San Diego for a weekend. There is also a lot of interaction with your manager/mentor (may depend on your team) and most interns are given projects with an impact.

    Cons

There is a good amount of bureaucracy, which is to be expected from such a large company.

  10. "Really well organized"

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I had a great team: mentor, technical lead, and manager.
Everyone was willing to help out. There were also tons of other interns there, so it was like being in a college town.

    Cons

There really weren't too many cons! It is quite fast paced, but even for someone who barely could code in C, I was able to handle it.

    Advice to Management

    Not much really!
