    Pros

Qualcomm is correctly seen as the leading company in wireless. I get to work with smart people. Benefits are good.

    Cons

Company is big. Not clear why some parts comtinue to do what they do. Changes have come recently to cut down on waste of resources.

    Advice to Management

Think carefully about what the next big thing will be when the current money-making businesses slow down. Look to leverage Qualcomm's strength. Easy to say but very hard to do at the scale needed to remain the pre-eminent mobile technology company.

    Pros

technically challenging and will help you to gain very good knowledge about communication systems. Gives you a very clear understanding of how different companies involved in mobile space get their stuff integrated into the end product.

    Cons

for a person who sees the bigger picture - working in Qualcomm might seem very limiting as the scope of your work is very narrow.

    Advice to Management

Please work harder in providing the employees a safer and more secure place. Most employees are running a marathon to reach the impossible and aggressive deadlines set here and this makes it impossible for anyone to indulge in the comfort of being creative.

    Pros

Excellent infrastructure (IT helpdesk, Intranet, Wifi, etc.).
Excellent benefits (fully paid healthcare, fitness centers, cafeteria, office for most employees).
    Very good executive management.
    Strong focus on technology innovation.

    Cons

Lack of regular communication between management and employees regarding changes in priorities and strategy (specifically within a division or business unit).

    Advice to Management

Require quarterly or monthly all hands within each division so that all employees understand the current progress on business objectives and next steps.

    Pros

    Cutting Edge technology, good benefits

    Cons

Chaotic work environment, Top heavy management, compensation relative to the work efforts is quite average, duplication of efforts is always of concern

    Advice to Management

    Appreciate and recognize the employees

    Pros

Benefits but not stocks. Still a solid company with lots of money in the bank to survive for the next crisis.

    Cons

not the best salary in the industry. Too much politics to benefit friends and not exactly competent people.

    Advice to Management

Do less politics. Listen to customers and sales instead of leave engineering taking the decisions and develop what they want but not what the customers want. Focus is core business not in the service business since Qualcomm doesn't have competence to act in this segment supporting below average management in these divisions and keep loosing money.

    Pros

    - Trainings ( but you may not have time for them at all)
    - Good benefit
    - Job security
    - Good start for the fresh graduates

    Cons

    - No management support . You need to drive/figure out/push around solely by yourself. Management is doing nothing but taking credits. No 1on1 meeting from the direct manager for half a year.
    - Non-realistic deadlines
    - Long long hours. 60 hours per week is nothing, and you are not appreciated. You'd better working 24/7.
    - No life. You are supposed to be a machine, not a human being.
    - Does not have collaborative culture.
    - If your project lead is from another team, you are always the scapegoat for project being behind the schedule even if they were behind far before you joined in.

    Advice to Management

Improve the mid-management people skills. Treat your engineers with more respect, and don't act as if you were their master and they were slaves. Let the engineers participate in the deadline decision.

    Pros

Friendly people to work with, great entry level opportunity, fitness classes are good, lots of team work, some appreciation shown by mentors.

    Cons

Hard to advance in one's career due to internal transfer policies, slow to promote, need to threaten to leave employment to advance.

    Advice to Management

Micromanagement and accountability of works is not an incentive to go the extra mile. Qualcomm is not innovative in its technology as it used to be.
