I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is extremely helpful and interested in making sure it is a positive experience. Executives are accessible and will even do lunch one on one with interns. There are a lot of smart people working on bleeding edge technologies. HR is amazing. There are lots of events for interns to have fun outside of work, and San Diego is close enough to paradise.

    Cons

Intern projects could be sort of hit or miss. Interns sometimes felt obligated to work extra hours in order to complete tasks, but felt discouraged from admitting to working overtime (and getting paid for it).

    Advice to Management

    Doing a great job overall!

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work at Qualcomm was not terribly overwhelming, but not completely trivial. Projects were manageable and allowed me to interact with a large number of people from throughout the corporate hierarchy. Also free sodas, waters, coffee and tea in every building.

    Cons

Some dead time between projects, but nothing too terrible.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Some of the smartest folks in the semiconductor industry

    - If you want to gets hands dirty with low level work like computer organization, processors, compilers and operating systems and advanced communication protocols like LTE/4G , this is a great place to start.

    - Great benefits as interns and as full time employees.

    - Learning curve is steep, mentor/manager system per intern , guidance and training is good.

    - Company is doing well. Very positive outlook for the next couple of years.

    Cons

    - Large organization and hence has uneven distribution of good work

    - Senior engineers tend to do most of the good work and interns complete the housekeeping stuff. Atleast it felt like that way.

    - Software division slightly takes a backseat over hardware division. Pay and bonus is higher for design engineers.

    - Too much work to kill your work-life balance

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance, competitive pay, San Diego is beautiful, brilliant coworkers, housing and relocation was completely covered, R&D projects are very good, stable job outlook, HR (Campus Team) is by far the best of any company I've ever dealt with, great mentorship, executive speaker series, and they even held an intern hackathon

    Cons

We didn't use agile software development, so there was very little flexibility or change as your project progressed. I had a project that was almost identical to the project that I had done the summer before at a different company. Projects are assigned based on what you have a proven track record of doing, and not what you want to do in the future. Shuttles go in loops around campus, and can take 15+ minutes to pick you up if you don't time it right. You could get banned from using the shuttles if you abuse them by taking them to an office that's closer to a mall/food court.

    Advice to Management

Work across divisions and teams more.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work-culture at Qualcomm was great. The people I worked with were smart and very helpful. The location (San Diego) is amazing. The benefits for full-time employment are also good.

    Cons

The work for my internship was a bunch of programming and testing tasks, with little flexibility in the goals.
