I worked at Qualis Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

CEO has a good vision, overall company benefits are good, salary not bad

    Cons

Some departments are given leeway to "make their own rules" when it comes to things like sick days, attendance, employee hours, and overtime, with no oversight. As long as the client is happy, the department can do what it wants with regards to its employees. Expect constant micro-management, threats of unemployment, weekly policy changes, "requests" to work overtime, and high turnover rate.

I have been working at Qualis Health (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, good pay. They really work hard to provide benefits beyond basic health insurance.

    Cons

They don't listen to the people 'on the ground'. They make their decisions at a high level, with plans lacking sufficient detail to work smoothly, then panic when their plans don't work. They also don't give their employees enough information when making changes for the employees to be able to transition through those changes. This disconnect between management and staff is pervasive and continual. They have lost a lot of excellent employees (both staff and management) because of this basic failing.

    Advice to Management

You have a lot of bright, engaged and knowledgeable employees in your organization. Consider actually listening to what they have to say.

I have been working at Qualis Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very smart people to work with, interesting healthcare work, good work life balance, comfortable work space, many positions are fairly stable

    Cons

Lots of administrative time wasting in certain jobs because of government contracts, not up to date with technology, teams often work in silos

    Advice to Management

Invest in client management systems and workforce development training

    Pros

I saw one reviewer say "free parking". That is about it. Can't think of any reason I should have ever gone to work for Qualis.

    Cons

-Management--mid-level on up--lacking basic management and leadership skills in integrity.
-No interest at all employee engagement.
    -"Command and control" culture.
-Company doing whatever it can to bring in revenue.
-Great example of what is wrong with American healthcare.
    -Stay away!

    Advice to Management

Get back to your mission and values. Keep your word.

I have been working at Qualis Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Uhh...free parking? Honestly, I'm at a loss to come up with anything positive to say about this organization.

    Cons

I've been at Qualis for less than a year and already I'm seeking other employment. I was at the position for more than 4 months before I had any formal feedback from management and recieved less than 30 mins of training. Management are cold, aloof, and reluctant to answer questions. However they are quick to send negative and unprofessional emails when a mistake is made.

    Advice to Management

Management are in dire need of conflict resolution skills, solution focused support training and courageous leadership 101.

I worked at Qualis Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working for an organization that successfully improves healthcare for many people. Good health benefits and employee recognition for those working directly in the medical community and who are lucky enough to have a good supervisor. Some supervisors are good managers; others could use some training in constructive managerial tactics and empathy training.

    Cons

Atmosphere is positive in only some departments, depending on the supervisor. Employee recognition and incentives are few and far between. Pay is below average in most areas. Growth potential is limited dependent upon how leadership/HR views the position which is typically in a limited, non-adaptive view. There is little room for those in support positions to advance to higher, mid-level positions no matter how many skills they master and improve upon or years they invest working there. The general work environment is static, linear, unchanging and uninspiring. It is a good work place for a few and a revolving door for more.

    Advice to Management

Support should come from the ground up. Show every loyal employee that they are valued and wanted. Managers may not feel they can ask for more incentives for their staff, they should feel that they can do so and not be penalized or ignored.
