I worked at Quality Inn & Suites full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The Front Desk is a great transition into the Hospitality Industry.

    Cons

You will not be rewarded positively for excelling. You will be made to work the busiest days and will never have a weekend or holiday off. This isn't a reflection of poor management; it's just how the industry functions. Depending on your franchise owner/management company, even being a Front Desk Agent can be a dead end job. Hotels are exceptionally profitable;however, staff pay is usually very low.

    Advice to Management

This is to franchise owners, not Choice Hotels International: Please promote those who really deserve it. Pay your employees more; you're already making a ridiculous profit after overhead.

    Pros

There were absolutely no pros to this job

    Cons

Management, pay, training, way I was treated

    Advice to Management

Don't scream at your employees on the second day of training saying they're not learning fast enough when you're not willing to actually train them and then fire them on their third day. Worst management I have ever experienced.

I worked at Quality Inn & Suites full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Discounts on other hotels within brand, which was a fair discount.

    Cons

    No holidays/benefits
    No holiday pay
    Little room for promotion
Little pay for lots of work

    Advice to Management

If you want someone to do the job of a manager, they need to be paid as a manager. If you want to pay someone single digits hourly, do not be surprised when they cannot commit their entire life to your hotel.

I have been working at Quality Inn & Suites full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Location. Big Suites. Nice rooms if cleaned right.

    Cons

Connected to the nice hotel is a cheap motel run from same desk that accepts cash. Drugs and prostitution are an ongoing problem with no security.

    Advice to Management

Have an experienced General Manager who can raise the standards to its maximum potential. A General Manager who will be present and pro active with cleaning the place up.
