    Pros

They operate with a small company entrepreneurial spirit, although they have 75 operating companies and 25,000 employees. Great benefits and a good HR department.

    Cons

Each of the 75 operating companies under Quanta run their own business, so there is a loss of the overall goals that Quanta is looking to achieve across the board.

    Pros

The company is diversified and has held up well through a shifting economy. The explosive growth makes work challenging where you constantly learn and grow in your position- never boring. Values mean something- people and safety are a priority. Very entrepreneurial and dynamic feel.

    Cons

Not a place for people who are unable to work outside of the box or their specific job description- the organizational growth ensures change.

    Advice to Management

Keep steering the ship in the right direction. Keep focused on core values.

I have been working at Quanta Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A solid company that runs its corporate division as a servicing and hold company for its subsidiaries. Their place in their market is exceptional and the company is branching out into new initiatives. Upper management is great with people oriented mentality which allows the employee to feel like they a part of something bigger. Great company team building and long standing traditions.

    Cons

IT Department middle management is very micro-managed and usually causes isolation between the different IT teams which setups double-standards, possible conflicts, and brings down moral. Other departments middle management has no employee isolation issues and no negative feedback has been observed.

    Advice to Management

Re-examine the structure of middle management and allow the administrators the flexibility to do their appropriate job assignments. Allow more movement on projects that have little to no budget in order to re-structure the technical foundation for the companies infrastructure. All subsidiaries would benefit from the corporate team catching up to industry standards and operating in a proactive state instead of a reactive state.

I worked at Quanta Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good money if busy enough

    Cons

Management is over your back constantly. Work pays you per job. Some days you can be done by noon and you wait around for more work. Horrible company. No paid days off for vacation, sick days or holiday. Not family oriented. Horrible benefits. I paid over 800 a month for insurance for me and my wife and daughter. No room to move up in company. You are just a money making machine to them and they don't care about you.

    Advice to Management

The people out in the field make the money. Treat them kindly and don't micro manage.

    Pros

Plenty of company perks, and great location!

    Cons

There is a lack of employee commitment. Training and development opportunities are not encourage, and processes are outdated. The company requires you to be available around the clock.

    Pros

They have an office in the Galleria in Williams Tower which is close to the mall if you like to shop. If you are fresh out of college it might provide some baseline experience. During close they will buy lunch so you can eat at your desk.

    Cons

Parking is horrible in the garage. The leaders are extremely shallow, without human characteristics and plastic. They only search for passive souls that can be used and then easily discarded. They do not invest in their employees. Human Resources is non existent and retaliation is encouraged and standardized. Technical improvements are swept aside in the best interest of political lies. The only offer 10 days off a year and you lose them if you don't use them. You have to fight very hard to even use the few days they give you.

    Advice to Management

Please do not make the money and power the number one priority over human beings if employees are your most valuable asset. It will not last very long or satisfy your soul.
