    Pros

Transparent Leadership team that is not only dedicated to the life changing technology but also dedicated to the employees. You can find great leaders at all levels of the organization and it is a nourishing culture throughout. The pace is quick and you are expected to learn a lot, but that is because each employee has a great deal of responsibility. It's exciting to be a part of an environment where everyone... can see the impact of their contribution. Expect challenges, as there are at every company, but the no BS culture allows you to talk openly about difficulties and meet them head on. There is growth potential in every department and as long as you work for it you will get to where you want to be.

    Cons

Typical fast-growing struggles - not enough cubes, conference rooms are hard to come by, and fridge space is tight. Moving to a new building will help alleviate the growing pains.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be transparent and continue to listen to your employees and you will continue to attract great talent.

    Pros

Powerful technology for supporting medical research and development of minimally invasive diagnostics and therapies to complex diseases. Opportunity to work with customers who are passionate about understanding a wide range of diseases and traumatic injury to ultimately lead to treatments and cures.

    Cons

Merit and experience do not guarantee consideration for internal advancement opportunities. Qualification standards for a role are not always documented or are loosely adhered to when considering candidates for advancement. Middle management who are positioned in roles critical to the business and employee retention may not necessarily have any prior management experience, qualifications or training. Minimal, if any..., checks and balances or accountability structure in management. Direction given by supervisors is often contradictory or ambiguous. Interpretation and execution of the direction are later scrutinized based on management’s current and specific self-preservation needs at that moment. Yearly development goals, when documented, can be unattainable and used as justification for prejudiced performance reviews. Personal alliances between departments stifle a feeling of trust. Narcissism in middle management inhibits collaboration, teamwork, innovative thinking and prohibits efficient resolution of issues (customer or product).

    Advice to Management

When a problem or bottleneck is brought to your attention, do more than acknowledge it. Take initiative to help break down barriers that cause problems. Acknowledging an issue and agreeing to it; but doing nothing to address it is a sign of incompetence. Do not hold your team accountable to keep you informed of issues after you consistently lack action to resolve the issues they report. Try to remain impartial. A... manager should be aware of and manage to the different personalities and communication styles that make your team strong and diverse, rather than insist on them all conforming to yours. Do not gossip or complain about a subordinate to that person’s peers. Be receptive to productive critical thinking, even when it’s not your own idea. Praise in public, criticize in private. Document commendations equally as you document corrective measures. Make decisions when a decision is needed, rather than remain completely silent. Be consistent with communicating and enforcing rules and policies. Never pressure a direct report to break moral or ethical obligations, pressuring employees to be dishonest to customers regarding product issues and purposely deceiving the customer about what the failures are puts the company at significant risk to lose key stakeholders as well as compromises the integrity of the customers’ data. Require and model honesty and integrity. As a manager it is the capability and quality of work by the people who report to you that make you effective. Stand up for your team when appropriate, because your management may not always completely understand the challenges your team is facing. Remember that it’s always easier to keep good and dedicated employees when they are genuinely appreciated, supported, challenged and rewarded.

    I worked at Quanterix full-time

    Pros

Innovative technology with a potential to detect disease earlier than conventional methods. Rapid growth of the company and increasing popularity of the technology among researchers. Overall compensation and benefits are okay. Good work-life balance for some employees. Some very bright, hard-working and down-to-earth co-workers. Bagel Thursdays (all the "leaders" eat them but none of them sign up to... bring them).

    Cons

Textbook cronyism: Key positions in the company have been taken over by the CEO's cronies. Top management lacks accountability and trust in their employees: They cut corners and when things backfire they blame their contract engineering / manufacturing partners. They hire watchdogs (also the CEO's cronies) to scrutinize and question their employees' actions. Over-the-top propaganda and brain-washing... meetings, in which employees are made to chant motivational slogans. Actions do NOT speak louder than words at Quanterix. If you want to be recognized for your contributions you need to embellish everything you do and literally broadcast it all the way up to the VP level all the time.

Fast paced environment where priorities change rapidly. It can be tiring at times to keep up and stay on top of what is being asked.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on growth opportunities for current team while strategically bringing in necessary outside subject matter experts. Continue to be open and transparent about the business with your employees.

    Pros

The technology and products are amazing and have great potential for helping make great strides in drug development and the identification and prevention of disease.

    Cons

Not enough time and resources are committed to making the products and processes robust and repeatable. Feels like all parts of operations are always playing catch-up. Sr. Mgmt gets much too involved in daily operations. CC'd emails are a plague.

    Pros

Bagel thursday that they don't buy enough bagels.

    Cons

Top heavy. There's a lot of people getting paid way too much to have zero idea what's going on. Constant disorganization and miscommunication, or "solutions" that just make tasks more difficult or never actually happen.

    Advice to Management

The amount of time that management spends in meetings, one would think that something would get accomplished.
