      Archaic, old boy's club stuff going on

      Pros

      Amiable at first. Feels very communal/startup-y. Ra ra ra. Benefits ok. Crappy travel management and expense system.

      Cons

      Horrible culture. Very few women in leadership and the ones who are are in the "soft" positions. Had a horrible male leader and he bullied/bullies all the women on the team and it was enabled throughout leadership. People who were not white and men were consistently left off of key meetings and or excluded in obvious ways. no corporate credit card so if you travel, a lot of administrative work - no central place to manage and get paid quickly.

      Bad management

      HR department is one person in the US

      Cons

      Disengaged and always busy management they barely discuss projects with new employees and the culture is full of gossip. Very toxic culture. The office is tiny and the team is dysfunctional.

      Interesting technologies developed by the R&D team in London

      Cons

      - Working in delivery alternates between weeks of boredom then sudden assignments to projects with tight schedules and super high stress levels - You often have to work outside of working hours to run lengthy spark jobs, but you have to do it on the down low - Projects follow a very heavy weight cookie cutter pattern that requires extremely long compile times. IntelliJ Idea is the preferred IDE, but sometimes takes 20 minutes of indexing before you can interact with code. - Average developer age < 30 years, so if you're 45 or older, you will have difficulty fitting in - Unhealthy drinking culture - A lot of lip service towards being family-oriented, but if medical difficulties require missing many meetings, negatives will appear in your reviews - Constant company propaganda takes away from what substance they have
