I have been working at Quantum Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone that I've come in contact with so far has been great, even people outside of my team that I've started networking with. The Bellevue Office appears to be well organized and have their act together.

    Cons

No remote options, but they told me this from the beginning, so no real complaints.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the great attitude.

I worked at Quantum Corporation (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work and personal life balance was great

    Cons

CEO and team not sure where they want to go. Slashing sales team and trying to do it all with less is a potentially volatile mixture for failure.

    Advice to Management

Clean house of upper management and you might have a chance.listen to your field sales team. They are closes to your customers.

I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits were decent, although insurance prices significantly increased over my years there. Offers an ESPP. Flexible work schedules. Most teams in sales are not micromanaged, but that is slowly changing. Some managers are solid, along with some of the talent across the organization. Some nice people there, I hope they see the signs and get out before the ship has completely sunk.

    Cons

I have many friends that are still at Quantum... but I hope they get out. This ship isn't just sinking under the current leadership, it's also on fire too.
CEO needs to go, has only driven the company into the ground. Upper level management are all buddies - they all seem to look out for each other, rather than looking out for the company's best interest.
Office space in Bellevue is outdated and constantly being re-configured - perhaps the musical-chairs funds should be spent on something that would help generate revenue.
Inconstant with work from home opportunities. Varies across the organization, with any rhyme or reason.
Culture and work environment are poor. Everyone just comes to work, sits at their desk, does their job, and then heads home. In Bellevue, you could walk to you desk and not have a conversation with anyone for the rest of the day, if you wish.
Sales incentives and compensation bonuses are continuously being cut and reduced - in an effort to help reduce costs.
Because the company has been doing so poorly over the last 3 years, no one should expect a raise. Management consistently expects their employees to be happy with a 0-2% annual raise.
Executives are so concerned about revenue recognition, they seem to be willing to just adjust how discounting is reflected on hardware versus support, as hardware revenue can be recognized right after it shipped. Support cannot be recognized until the month the support is rendered. I'm not a Wall Street or ethics expert - but if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck...
Do not board this ship, my friends... You'll be sorry you did!

    Advice to Management

Executive level appears to be like a "gentlemen's club," they have all been with the company for many, many years. Get some new blood in there, don't just wait for people to retire and burn the company to the ground.
Take a dose of your own medicine and, "Take the high road" and consider your decisions from a ethical perspective.

I have been working at Quantum Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-More opportunity to directly connect with the executive team at Quantum then another large company
-Employees have a lot of experience and wealth of knowledge

    Cons

-Due to the companies performance, bonuses are hard to come by and typically aren't given out
-The turnover rate is very high
    -General morale is low
    -No culture

    Advice to Management

Find ways to better support your employees, and give guidance and direction to the company and product set in a declining industry

I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good, smart, level-headed people on most teams. Most products are strong contenders in the storage space, especially StorNext. Work life balance is great, except when it isn't. Benefits are decent.

    Cons

One of the most boring, slow-to-evolve technology companies I have ever seen. Pay and company culture and on the very low end. Managers and executives are so concerned about quarterly profits and shareholder value they have sacraficed employee moral, company culture and any shred of long-term viability or excellence. A mediocre organization with mediocre leadership.

    Advice to Management

Bring in a consulting firm for total culture and organization re-haul. Or sell to Netapp or Dell.

I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time

    Pros

    Flexible work schedule and environment
Learn a lot and opportunities when the company isn't doing well
Good raises after first year, but then terrible after that

    Cons

    No focus on employee morale
Pay is low compared to industry standards
    Leadership doesn't care about employees
Leadership laid off a bunch of new sales reps a few months after they were hired
CEO talks about being a growth company, and yet it was artificial growth generated by bringing in deals from future quarters- refuses to answer employee questions about this

    Advice to Management

    More focus on employee satisfaction
Leadership is too top heavy, more change is needed and more executive level restructuring
HR is mildly incompetent- they are unapproachable and not knowledgeable

Collaborative, forward thinking technology company with great products. The work environment is positive- relaxed, respectful, collaborative and with work schedule flexibility. Access to senior leadership is good. Ideas to make change are encouraged.

    Cons

Financial performance was great last year but is not as strong this year...which the stock market does not like...which can make some feel nervous.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course to win the race...

    Advice to Management

The CEO couldn't come up with anything better and told people who were upset about the company's direction to "Grow Up" in a company-wide meeting.

I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay, flexibility, health conscious and office culture were all great in my short time there. It was a great position with a lot of career potential. Unfortunately I was brought on about 6 months before some corporate restructuring and layoffs needed to occur. So myself and about 120 other people were released.

    Cons

The product and systems training wasn't good. It was all done with recorded, online tutorials that you did by yourself. It was not intuitive at all and seemed pretty antiquated for a technology company.
