I worked at Quarry Integrated Communications full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good opportunities to work on different types of clients and a broad spectrum of challenging work, for small to large companies. Every day is different. People are very friendly and open. Physical space is amazingly cool.

    Cons

Be prepared for long hours. Some clients can be quite difficult (even mean). You're either "in" with those that make decisions, or you're not.

    Advice to Management

Don't let personal biases get in the way of smart business thinking. Be more open to diverse opinions and thinking.

I worked at Quarry Integrated Communications full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fairly flexible schedule/work from home options when needed. Competitive junior and mid-level salaries. A lot of smart people.

    Cons

Canadian-based agency, currently with no US employees; only a US billing address. An absence of leadership and focus from the senior management team results in deficient/no strategy (or follow-through) for organizational growth. Senior management is blind to the mounting disengagement by the majority of employees, resulting in a toxic culture build-up. In addition, continued lack of billable work by a large senior team questions the sustainability of the organization.

I worked at Quarry Integrated Communications part-time

    Pros

Super smart, caring, real people working on fun and challenging projects for world-class clients. As far as agency work and consulting goes, it doesn't get any better. Yes, it's important to have great ideas, work hard and make strong contributions at Quarry, but it's all within the context of a fabulous, caring and engaging culture. The management genuinely wants the best for everyone and strives to make that a reality. They listen.

    Cons

As others mentioned, there is some turnover, but most people leave to get experience inside big companies or to follow an entrepreneurial passion, not to go to other agencies, which is an important distinction.

    Advice to Management

    Keep listening!

    Pros

    Fantastic team.
    Great work-life balance.
We work hard - and play hard!
Everyone takes pride in the work we do and Quarry overall.
Opportunities to grow and build upon your skill set.

    Cons

You gotta be okay working in/driving to St. Jacobs.- it is not a thriving Metropolis!

    Pros

Some great, smart people that want to do great work for clients and to support each other. Good work space.

    Cons

Leadership that is untrusting and self centered. The glow of a positive culture emanates but when peeled back, you see disengaged employees gasping for purpose. Office politics alive and well so be careful.

    Advice to Management

When people ask what the president does and no one knows... that's a problem.

    Pros

Amazing team, amazing culture, challenging work.

    Cons

Not always a competitive salary for certain positions. No transparency on salaries and compensation.

    - Monthly team meeting with great financial transparency
    - Monthly birthday/anniversary lunch (free) to celebrate Q's people

    - Rooftop patio
    - Daily free veggies and dip
    - Huge lunch room "Bistro" with kitchenette
    - Free coffee

    - Profit sharing if targets reached

    Cons

The only cons are process related, but these will likely be fixed soon. As the industry and company evolve, new efficiencies have to be found. Because Quarry is SO comfortable, people are wary of making it into just another big business place, so new processes take time to unfold because they are considered very carefully.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. Your thoughtfulness, care and concern are evident in the workplace and beyond.

I worked at Quarry Integrated Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This company is like a family and mangement does their best to balance employee needs with the financial reality of the business. When the company has good years they share with the employees, but not all years are good. The atmosphere is relaxed and conducive to idea sharing and collaboration. Overall, a good place to work.

    Cons

The location is a little odd and far away from the highway, but some might find that a benefit. Management needs to watch the work life balance as there are many employees working 60+ hours per week on a regular basis in order to meet client deadlines.

    Advice to Management

Talk more to the people who are important to the company and pay them so they don't leave.
