I worked at Queen Creek Olive Mill full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Amazing team. You are really treated as family an with respect.

    Cons

It is a niche market. You must be good with learning about the products. If you do not belong eating olives, you probably should not work here. =)

    Advice to Management

Keep your employees close, as when you value your team, the loyalty is never forgotten.

I worked at Queen Creek Olive Mill full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Tourism destination that offers interesting products. Outdoor setting in nice weather is a good spot to relax. Live music on weekends.

    Cons

Family operated company that mostly cares about themselves. Low salaries. Turnover is extremely high. CEO's ego is extremely difficult to deal with and everything is about HIM. No concern for keeping long-term employees.

    Advice to Management

Offer benefits and better pay scale to keep employees.

I have been working at Queen Creek Olive Mill part-time

    Pros

Wonderful concept, beautiful grounds, lovely customer base, superb products.

    Cons

Terrible training and onboarding process. Unfriendly owner/operator and family. Too many hands in the pot yet no real leadership; it's as if managers are afraid to be progressive and stand up for themselves and their employees to a very hands off and rigid family. Seeing this across all departments. Drama all over the place with staff. All around chaotic place to work and not because it's busy, but because there... isn't strong Middle and Upper Management. Basically, you won't go anywhere here unless you suck it up and are a puppet, robot, or a "Yes Man." Be prepared to be confused, frustrated, and underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Grow a backbone and stand up for your staff! Real change comes from LEADERS, not puppets.

I have been working at Queen Creek Olive Mill full-time for less than a year

    Pros

If you live close this place will suck you in but beware it has a hidden agenda

    Cons

Management treats there employees terrible. The owner swears at people including his own children that work there. If you like to cry he likes to make his employees feel like they are nothing. It’s just a horrible place to work.

    Advice to Management

Sell this place to someone that actually knows what they are doing and can treat their employees with respect .

I worked at Queen Creek Olive Mill for less than a year

    Pros

Family owned and operated, and it shows! Everyone knows the owner and his family. The staff has fun and has a good working relationship.

    Cons

The only major downside is the pay and benefits(there are none). I don't know anybody who feels they are being compensated a fair amount for the hours and amount of work being done.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! You've got a killer team, just show them how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication to the job, because it's not easy.

I worked at Queen Creek Olive Mill part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly co-workers, upbeat environment, local company & small business, set hours and schedule, opportunity to move/change positions, managers are understanding when you must miss a day

    Cons

No pay raises it seems ever? Worked for over a year requested reviews multiple times and was ignored or pushed aside due to it being busy, your expected to take on more tasks without pay increase, performance reviews seem non existing. Company is growing and still figuring out how to run itself so procedures change almost weekly, quite confusing.

    Advice to Management

Regular reviews and pay raises are a great moral boost

I have been working at Queen Creek Olive Mill full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've enjoyed working under far more experienced cooks and chefs I've learned about time-management and other needed skills in a fast-paced environment. Plus the food is amazing.

    Cons

The actual building is a shit-hole and is falling apart from the inside out. The only thing keeping the place alive is the food and the actual olive oil that we deliver out.

    Advice to Management

    Improve the building standards.

I worked at Queen Creek Olive Mill

    Pros

Busy and steady revenue growth. It should be around for many years. Unique place to see or work. Good place for 'people' persons.

    Cons

Wage promises never kept. No benefits. Not competently run. Management doesn't follow policies, procedures, etc., but expects rest of staff to abide by same.

    Advice to Management

Actually sit down and plan things out before acting, especially an overall business plan. Seat of the pants planning will never work.
