I have been working at Queensborough Community College part-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Supportive staff. Chairs of the department have always given teachers leeway and space to create lesson plans that work best for students. Benefits are great.
Cons
Adjuncts are not allowed to teach more than a certain amount of hours per semester, and the comparative pay to full time staff is very low.
