    Pros

Only requirement for emoloyement is high school diploma and passing a pee test

    Cons

Must go through temp agency first
    Lack Management
    Weird scheduling

    Cliques
    No intervention

    Advice to Management

Investigate why things happen and make sure the people are held accountable. No one is ever fired here unless their attendance is god awful. They'ed rather keep horrible employees than to have managers and group leads enforce their powers. Mangement is spread so thin they are unable to make any real differences

I worked at Quest Diagnostics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Your co-workers were always willing to assist you if needed even if it meant the were going to get written up.

    Cons

The most HORRIBLE place I have ever worked. You would think being in the business they are in they would have competent supervisors. They were only interested in filling a desk. They hired T-Mobile sales people and PHLEB as supervisors and Literally I knew more than my supervisor which would have been ok, everybody has to learn but she wouldn't even try to find the correct answers for you she would make up a lie. They are not about the Client or Patience all they care about is you taking that next call. They don't even care if you helped the Client correctly. Honestly I was told that if I have to stop and think about how I can help my Client then just cold transfer to a different dept. and take the next call. When walked out it was like a million tons were lifted from me.... QUEST DIAGNOSTICS are fake and phonies they only care about money

    Advice to Management

Management should be making sure their supervisors at the very least are helping their employees when needed....assisting with a call take over/ following up with a Client on something that would have taken you longer than the allotted time and actually making sure it gets done instead of allowing supervisors to sit in front of 2 blue screens for 8 hours while they are on Facebook. ...SMH....just saying....

I worked at Quest Diagnostics (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with when I got there 6.5 years ago were intellegent, innovative, friendly, cooperative, and had a shared sense of purpose.

    Cons

New management came in and cut staffing to increase profitability. This resulted in subject matter experts being replaced with contractors who had absolutely no idea how the business ran. Some people were hired back at a hefty premium when it became clear that the new folks were useless. Some project are years behind because new management cannot articulate what they want, and the new IT people couldn't supply any background help. there is a sense that if IT would just disappear management wouldn't look so inept

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to manage by the latest glossy magazine article. Get back to describing what you want to IT and then letting them choose the methodology. Would you tell your doctor or laywer how to service you?

I worked at Quest Diagnostics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, good health insurance. I was well paid. Lots of vacation, option to purchase stock.

    Cons

I was never successful at obtaining any promotion applied for. After 10 years with the company, I was laid off and given 5 minutes to leave the building. I was granted a good severance package but was treated like a criminal.
You can work for Quest but your job will be temporary, especially if you are one of the better paid senior employees. Don't ever trust this employer to do the right thing! Expect to be: under surveillance, stabbed in the back by your coworkers, harassed and abused by managers.
This is not a friendly employer, and they don't care about you. And don't get old while working for Quest and expect to work until retirement! Elder abuse is a great term for their process.
Quest discriminates against seniors in the workplace.

    Advice to Management

You can't function well without loyal employees. Laying off the senior folks will always generate bad will. Some of the managers you employ have poor qualities.
    STOP DISCRIMINATION AGAINST OLDER WORKERS!

    Pros

There are some good, whole hearted people there. You can get some lab experience working there. You can listen to music

    Cons

No room for advancement. Unprofessional upper management. Favoritism. Too much corporate bullying. They work you like a machine and under pay their employees. High turn over rate up to 90%. Have been reported to the labor board for unlawful mandatory overtime. I have seen 3 people stroke out due to the stress of working for Solstas Lab Partners/ Quest Diagnostics. Too much drama

    Advice to Management

Hire new management. Treat your employees like they deserve to be there, instead of them feeling like slaves or machines.

I have been working at Quest Diagnostics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

paycheck, dental, medical, vision insurance and stock option.

    Cons

    Very strict work environment
    Monitors your every move
Rather support belligerent customer's than loyal employees
    Very high turn over rate
Low wages compared to other companies doing similar work 11.09/hr
Monitor and track everything you do
    Micromanages you to death
    Requires mandatory overtime

    Advice to Management

Please support your employees. Customer's are important but so are employees. There can be a balance. Employees should be supported and not disciplined so harshly for every minute things.
