I have been working at Quest Software full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits - 401K, Health, Dental, Vision are good

    Cons

Too many ownership changes have cause the technology to suffer, and have caused morale to fade. Seems like there are a lot of long term, valuable employees that are starting to look elsewhere

    Pros

Easy and different job, lots of different shifts , set schedule , set lunch, management on sight able to use company card

    Cons

Favoritism, had point system but would be bent for the right person or circumstance , was told a point would go off my record if I came In an hour early

    Advice to Management

Hire better mentors for csrs, bettering orientation so csrs are ready for the floor and not flustered on the phone

I worked at Quest Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Quest is now part of Dell Software Group, the future of Dell, so there is some security if you are on the right product team for the future. Some very good people in the right places. Some very good products in the right places. Some perks, good benefits, decent pay. Annual sales kickoff in Vegas doesn't hurt either.

    Cons

Pay / total comp / benefits are below industry peers, especially the smaller faster growing competition. Dell is not willing to get competitive because there are 200 resumes waiting to fill your spot for less pay. I left for a much smaller competitor for a lot more money and flexibility.
Lot of dead weight middle management. Lot of layers. Lot of dead weight bottom level sales people and long-time Quest (or acquisition) employees that should have been cut ages ago. Which means that top people could be compensated and treated better if you cut the fat and focused. Products take way too long to improve and launch new releases. Way behind industry trends and innovations.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people, treat your best people well, or risk losing them all and having a team of mediocre players. Cut all the layers, all the internal BS and processes and legacy systems, get modernized.

I worked at Quest Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits such as health insurance, pension etc. Good community Spirit

    Cons

It has been bought out by a private firm so they are chopping up the business and selling it on. It would be more beneficial to them if they just told the business the plan rather than the cloak and dagger attitude they have.

    Advice to Management

Keep the ppl on the ground in the loop- they are the ones that are going to be effected.

    Pros

Great people, great products, great customers! Salary is decent with opportunities to earn more if you work hard . Great benefits including healthcare, sick leave, pensions etc

    Cons

Acquisitions made things difficult in a customer facing role! Processes are not streamlined making it difficult to collaborate cross departmental

    Advice to Management

Micro management during change is suffocating
