I have been working at Questel full-time

    Pros

Self- Paced Organization with No Egos! Everyone is very nice and great place to work. Everyone is nice and in order to succeed you need to be a self-starter.

    Cons

Things tend to move slowly and things tend to be more reactive versus proactive. Other than that, there are little to no Cons.

    Advice to Management

Everything is going well. My suggestion is to make things more efficient and to look at current processes and see how these things can change or be better. It's better to be proactive versus reactive.

I have been working at Questel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Small company structure allows for very steady opportunity for growth
    - Management focuses on identifying personal strengths in each employee
    - Parking is great
    - Realistic expectations for performance
    - No micro management, your success is directly related to the amount of work that you put in, so self starters are a must
    - Friendly atmosphere
    - Most management has been with the company for years and grown into their current position through promotions
    - Location central in Alexandria

    Cons

    - The only con would be if you are not self motivated- you must be disciplined and able to manage your own time to advance. No one will micromanage you here
    - Company does not invest enough in marketing materials
    - Office is cold (bring a sweater!)

I have been working at Questel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In my opinion, anyone that has been in the workforce will know that not every employer-employee relationship works out and sometimes ends up with a disgruntled employee.

As a former business owner and employee of many places, I can honestly say that this is the best place I have been employed. I believe management treats everyone with respect. In regards to employees, I also believe they are very patient and give employees ample opportunity to correct any problems or flaws in their behavior or work ethic. They are very appreciative of your employees and it is noticed and appreciated among current employees.

This is definitely not a reflection of the Questel I know.

    Cons

I do not see any worth complaining about. No business is perfect!

    Advice to Management

Keep up the positive attitude towards your employees. We all are happy to be a part of such a great company with high goals and expectations!

I have been working at Questel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule with regular amount of days off. Short 401K vesting period (3 years only) so you don't have to stay long to keep the company matching which is capped at 3%.

    Cons

Poor management without vision. Low compensation which is consistently 25% lower than competitors. No annual review and do not expect any raise. No advancement opportunity as the management prefers to hire relatives than the truly qualified candidates.

    Advice to Management

Time to seek qualified individuals to management the company.

    Pros

Energetic, dynamic personalities in group. Lively office environment. A great office location in a desirable area of the country.

    Cons

Unstable - their budget fluctuates so they frequently "hire and fire." observed contempt, alienation and even covert retaliation toward US citizens, since most of the company are immigrants. low wages for non-management. management does not deliver on commitments to staff.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone fairly, and give them fair compensation. Keep your commitments. Don't be fake and overpromise.
