    I have been working at Questrade as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great environment, lovely corporate culture full of young people with great ideas.
    Workplace is very accepting of different cultures, backgrounds and open to your ideas on how they can improve.

    Plenty of room to learn new things working alongside other team members/supervisors

    Cons

    Not much to mention for the cons. Everything is great but maybe communication as to what changes are happening around the company would be something to appreciate.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing. Lots of things have changed recently and for the better. A young positive workforce at QT is one of the best things you have.

    1. Nice co-workers, who were professional, enthusiastic and responsible at workplace
    2. Surprise always popped up to get your mind refreshing!

    I have been working at Questrade full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Company is lean. A lot of the technical management are engineers themselves, and there's not many of them, so there is no danger of "too many chiefs, not enough indians". Most of the management structure is team leads reporting directly to directors.

    Cons

    The above pro is also a bit of a con, since it gives limited room for individual growth. With limited supervisory positions open, getting promoted usually requires someone else leaving the position first.

    Advice to Management

    Management is doing a great job overall. The only advice I can give is to offer stock options, one of the things that's been asked about for years and has been completely ignored. Having a personal stake in the company will motivate your engineers, especially those in senior positions who posses a lot of the proprietary knowledge about the products developed internally, and discourage them from leaving. The "cost" of replacing some of these critical individuals could be quite high.

    Exposure to all business arms of firm. Constant growth opportunities. Great management.

    Cons

    A smaller firm therefore working with limited resources can be a challenge at times

    Pros

    Questrade pays much better than other banks and offer exceptional benefit. Senior Management have tremendous talent and treat employee as asset.

    Cons

    Food court is bad in North American Centre. They should have moved to other office for expanding.

    Advice to Management

    On the right track and periodically review salary to avoid losing good employees to big banks.

    Great place to be innovative - ideas get across quickly, managers/directors are very understanding people that always try to provide you with personal room for growth

    Amazing technical talent. Fast paced and challenging environment. Strong entrepreneurial spirit. Rapidly growing firm. Unique growth opportunities.

    Cons

    Bonus is acceptable but could be more competitive considering expectations and commitment level of senior staff.

    Advice to Management

    Introduce more opportunities to share information with the staff and develop additional monetary rewards and recognition programs.

    Pros

    Open Door Policy allows for employees to give input and recommendations on making a better employee, client, and business experience. Gives opportunity to growth and experience. Flexibility is available across departments within reasonable limits. Employee Education and Development Programs are excellent and available.

    More Employee Perks/Reward Programs would be welcomed

    Advice to Management

    Keep your doors open and continue listening to all departments, all people within the organization on what they have to say. This is why it is one of Canada's 50 Best well managed companies and continues to be. Collective communication, collaboration, teamwork between the departments helps to make each employee see their value in helping to make the company develop to what it can be so much faster. Keep in investing in your employees and your employee will invest in you.
