I have been working at Questrade full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company is lean. A lot of the technical management are engineers themselves, and there's not many of them, so there is no danger of "too many chiefs, not enough indians". Most of the management structure is team leads reporting directly to directors.

    Cons

The above pro is also a bit of a con, since it gives limited room for individual growth. With limited supervisory positions open, getting promoted usually requires someone else leaving the position first.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing a great job overall. The only advice I can give is to offer stock options, one of the things that's been asked about for years and has been completely ignored. Having a personal stake in the company will motivate your engineers, especially those in senior positions who posses a lot of the proprietary knowledge about the products developed internally, and discourage them from leaving. The "cost" of replacing some of these critical individuals could be quite high.

I have been working at Questrade full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company culture and work atmosphere is unreal. Everyone is friendly and there is such a close knit culture about the company. It's like being a part of a rapidly expanding family.

    Cons

My office faces the North side of the building and it gets chilly in the winter. The elevators are also a bit slow.

    Advice to Management

Keep the pizza parties and other company events coming, they're amazing.
