catty women, lots of pressure to sell, long hours

I worked at Quick Weight Loss Centers of Georgia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The clients are great to work with. Very rewarding to know you've helped someone lose significant weight.

    Cons

Employees are basically treated like small children on short leashes.

Center managers often give conflicting information.

Minor mistakes are taken way out of proportion, you are written up and there is no rebuttal or appeal.

Staffed entirely by women, there is drama, drama and more drama, back stabbing and gossip.

Sales make or break you, and must be made in 3-5 minutes. The hell with how much time the client needs, you must heard them thru within the allotted time, or you guessed it, you're written up.

You work 4 week days and every other Saturday. You will work 4 days a week even if you're sick. The day you are sick automatically becomes your day off and you are expected to work on your day off, so don't make plans for your day off.

If center is short counselors (a typical situation) you will be expected to work 3-4 Saturdays a month, so don't make plans for Saturdays either.

Any missing inventory is totaled up and everyone in the center has their pay docked sufficient to cover the missing inventory. This is true even when it's an accounting error or a client shoplifts.

    Advice to Management

Treating your employees like grown-ups and giving them some respect would go a long way. Letting them know they're appreciated? Priceless.

I worked at Quick Weight Loss Centers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are decent, co-workers are friendly

    Cons

Feminist run company that only wants sales at any cost. Job is to basically cold call people that haven't been in for a long time and don't want anything to do with the company anymore. Pay is low, hours are long and late in the evening.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people better and treat all employees the same. Stop disrespecting certain employees offer avenues for all employees to advance.

I worked at Quick Weight Loss Centers of Georgia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

4 day work week - long hours on those days though. If you have kids, you better have someone else who can pick them up.
    Great training

    Cons

    Low commission rates
Not a job for a single person - you don't make enough to pay your bills
They don't staff enough people, so don't ever get sick or have an emergency!
It took over a year to even have a review
Management is very sneaky, talks about all employees, etc. Don't tell anyone your business unless you want the entire company to know!

I worked at Quick Weight Loss Centers full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    coworkers, clients, and pay.

    Cons

No outside life, travel to and from corporate on your own non-paid time, your own vehicle without reimbursement for gas or toll, lose bonus if you call in for being sick, micromanaged daily, sales, sales, sales, and that is absolutely all they care about. You are never going to be valued as an employee there ever unless you are top sales manager and even then if you have a bad week in sales then you suck! Scripted everything from consultations, nut class, phones, and hardcore closes that are to be verbatim. That's it! Good-luck!

    Advice to Management

Back off! It is only a job, and for some who get paid $10 with your 4% commission in a crappy location it is almost impossible for them to make a living! There are way better jobs in this world to tolerate the belittled, micromanaged, inconsiderate behavior that you give!

I have been working at Quick Weight Loss Centers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great money!! You can make more money at this job then most. The job is very fulfilling. They offer medical, dental, PTO's, paid vacation, a life insurance policy in case something happened to you while employed with them and 401k. You are promoted based on your ability to produce vs seniority.

    Cons

Because you can make so much money the job is demanding. Counselors only work 40 hours but managers will work what is necessary to cover the clinic. Schedules are posted a month in advance but can change whenever.

    Advice to Management

When your having a bad day, leave it at the door. Make the day fun and tell your staff you appreciate them (if you don't already).

    Pros

This small but growing company offers great opportunities for advancement. Everyone is considered for promotions to assistant manager, manager, and even supervisor positions. Helping people achieve their goals is an added benefit.

    Cons

Currently the centers are not computerized, but that is changing soon.

I worked at Quick Weight Loss Centers of Georgia full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The only pro of working at Quick Weight Loss is feeling like you're helping people achieve health goals.

    Cons

Extremely low pay ($9/hr regardless of age or experience). 9-7 long days. Stress and abuse from owners and management regularly. Consistently being the punching bag furious customers who realize they're being tricked. Little to no opportunity for growth and no recognition or raises for a job well done.

    Advice to Management

Treat your counselors like people instead of disposable workhorses. Lie less. Have compassion for underpaid workers and lied-to clients.
