Worst company I've ever worked for

Pros

Fixed hours, beautiful location, good potlucks.

Cons

To understand why there are so many poor reviews for QuickMedical, one must realize it's a small, veteran-owned business, which gives it a considerable advantage when competing for government contracts. This means that the company can be inefficient, out of date, and directionless and still have an edge over competitors. If you accept their offer, expect to work with obsolete software, get paid significantly below market rate, and learn skills that are irrelevant at other companies. Also be wary of giving a 2-weeks notice before leaving. A manager personally told me that employees have been fired immediately upon announcing their departure in order reduce costs.

Unorganized and Stressful

Pros

Almost everyone I met was very kind and willing to help me if they could. It is a small quite office which helped with concentrating on work, but not so stuffy that you are afraid to socialize with those around you.

Cons

I was hired on to do an HR job that is still in development and because of that there was a great lack of organization. The person who has been developing this job has done some amazing work in a short amount of time to set the framework but no one besides him knows what is going on with this job. This is fixable but with time. I had barely a week to train for the job, but the training was almost nonexistent. Questions were answered with "I don't know, you look it up?" because when he is gone my job would involve lots of research and he wouldn't be there to answer. However, this started happening the day after I got hired and continued. Management was nice but since I was hired at peak vacation time they were pretty much non-existent which didn't help since I should have been working closely with them. Even though most employees were nice there were a few that were unreasonably rude and aggressive just because of the nature of my job. Overall I was consistently confused, frustrated, and stressed.

It is unfortunate that this employee resigned after one week, we certainly understand that not all personalities mix well, which is why we encourage all of our employees to approach HR or upper management as soon as a conflict arises. Although it appears that the skills, tasks, and stress of the job were not an excellent fit, we wish this employee would have approached us regarding this situation. We would much rather find a position within our organization that is a better fit, than have to see an individual resign so quickly.

In order to keep up with the ever changing regulations we do update our Employee Handbook annually to remain compliant. We still provide a full benefits package of medical, dental, 401K, PTO and employee appreciation packages. Although we do not expect every employee to retire from our company after a 30 year career, we are very proud to have a substantially lower turnover rate than the industry standard. As for our location, we enjoy the open space, low traffic, easy freeway access and free parking that this location has afforded us, 10 minutes from Bellevue but without the hassle!
