I worked at Quicken Loans full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Teach you mortgage origination skills/sales skills/relationship building skills. Always clean inside of the building. Great for learning about the mortgage industry. It was a good experience that I don't regret.

    Cons

Leadership is promoted based off of numbers/production and not professionalism. Don't be surprised if you find yourself in a leaders office and they start screaming at you like you are a child because their only concerns are their paychecks. Work/Life balance does NOT exist. Prepare to be Volun-TOLD to work every weekend. You cant step away for 5 minutes without someone jumping down your throat. Unprofessional environment.

    Advice to Management

The training with the leadership should be more in depth in regards to the health and the well being of the employees. Numbers cannot create a strong leader, healthy relationships create a strong leader.

I worked at Quicken Loans (More than a year)

    Pros

Very free and fun work environment, they allow you to pursue different career paths if your passions change, and it's mostly younger people.

    Cons

Corporate (even though they say they aren't). Leadership is very weak in most areas, and the wrong people get promoted. Also, very low pay.

Insane hours, mandatory Saturdays, can be required to work whenever off pace including Saturdays, Sundays and very late at night. Things are always changing so there is no consistency.

    Advice to Management

Be more consistent and don't treat your employees like they work in a sweatshop.

I worked at Quicken Loans full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great sales training and excellent earning potential for anyone that does not have a college degree. Fun atmosphere to be around 12+ hours a day.

    Cons

Excessive hours and goals are constantly increasing, stressful workload with a lot of pressure to produce regardless of lead flow. Everything is micro managed although they claim to have the freedom to run your own business.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice to be treated like a human beings rather than a loan producing robot. I do understand it is a client focused culture, but at the same time it is imperative to hit your numbers while keeping a positive mindset with every client every time. Management loses focus of that as their number one priority is to get paid. The same culture promised to the clients should be delivered to the employees.
