I have been working at Quicksilver Express Courier full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people on the job are kind, and hard working, the management is flexible and helpful, and I really feel like I'm making a difference.

    Cons

No benefits, except 1 week PTO that expires on your hire date every year.

    Advice to Management

Try to find a way to pay everyone a decent fixed rate and add on commission after that.

I have been working at Quicksilver Express Courier full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work by yourself. Time goes by fast. Your office is your car. Time goes by fast. Time goes by fast. You work by yourself

    Cons

They lie to you about what you will make. I've spent more than what ive made. They send you on a bunch of runs that you make less than $8.00. They dont pay milage or the cost of the high risk insurance. Plus you use your own car.

I worked at Quicksilver Express Courier full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good group of co-workers in the office. It is a busy challenging environment and there is a sense of accomplishment in taking care of customers.

    Cons

Current management is terrible. They can't have a conversation with anyone. They only know how to be VERY passive aggressive and condescending. They both love to manage by threatening emails and won't just deal with individual employees. When it is busy they will stand with their arms crossed staring down people but refuse to help on phones to get the mission done. No benefits at all other than paid time off. Drivers are treated poorly and there is high turnover so the company can't meet the needs of customers. It is stressful for employees to be constantly making "I'm sorry we are running late" phone calls ALL day.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating all employees (office staff and drivers) like they are replaceable and actually care about those that work for you. Replace the current management with approachable leadership. This is the culture of this company from long ago, and it will be this companies downfall.

    Cons

-Pay is not as high as they say it will be
-They want you to drive your own car and make money off of it
    -Dispatch is very rude
-They put their company logo sticker on your car

    Advice to Management

Get more company vehicles and treat your drivers better.

I worked at Quicksilver Express Courier full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If a person wants to be treated like dirt this is a good place for them to work.

    Cons

Everybody is horrible. They are at the door smoking most of the time. Everything gets blamed on the driver

    Advice to Management

Idiot management here. They are not interested in treating people fairly

I have been working at Quicksilver Express Courier full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You take from it what you put into it. Good money if you try. If you're lazy, you won't make as much. They have a great support staff that treat you with the same respect you treat them. It is very much a team effort. Dispatch & middle management are fantastic! They hire from within & there is room for advancement. Fun job if you have the right personality for it. I've worked for many courier companies & they are best by far.

    Cons

    No benefit package.

    Advice to Management

Hang on to that family owned feel. That human element goes a long way in keeping employees happy!

    Pros

Time goes by fast and the staff is very friendly. It's a low pressure driving job and quite enjoyable for the most part.

    Cons

Pay is based on commission but it still only comes out to be around 10 or 11 dollars per hour

    Advice to Management

raise the commission rate for drivers

I worked at Quicksilver Express Courier full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Home daily; could drive both class a and b vehicles; decent equipment; worked with you if you needed time off

    Cons

Was forced to haul flatbed even though pre-employment agreement was that I wouldn't be required to haul it; commission pay and couldn't see the value of any load in order to determine my cut; no ipass or stop pay

    Advice to Management

Adhere to pre-employment agreements; get ipass for tolls

I have been working at Quicksilver Express Courier full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's nice to be out and not stuck in one place. People are sometimes happy to see you. It can be fun to drive.

    Cons

Management will take the word of random people that call in, over the word of the drivers. They don't seem to care much about the drivers. They ignore their employees.
