I worked at QuikTrip part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, better than minimum wage, cool people.

    Cons

Turned into another fast food place, company doesn't care about employees like they used to.

    Advice to Management

I was an employee for four years and at the end of my career noticed a lot of the management not caring at all about how the work ethic of their clerks. I was a great clerk but had to work alongside slackers and people who refused to help out besides standing behind the register, and I just had to watch it happen. I used to love going to work and being part of a team. Now it's rare to see a good store team that all does their part. Try to get back to those days.

I worked at QuikTrip full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Great pay and benefits for people who did not go to college.
-Hard work is recognized and rewarded.
    -Hire good quality people.

    Cons

    -Constantly on your feet.
-Customers ALWAYS come first! Then Upkeeps and DAWs follow.
-Hard job (they let you know about the difficulty before you start, they hide nothing)
    -Management training program needs improvement.
-No breaks (but they let you know ahead of time)
    -Weird schedules (2 10-hour day shifts SAT/SUN, 1 9-hour night shift (TUES), and 2 9-hour overnight shifts (WED/THURS).

    Advice to Management

-Continue promoting from within because your internal employees know the business and standards at which they need to operate at.
-Restructure your management training program especially for RA's (don't just throw them into the fire so to speak).
***For example, this is how a 3 week training program could last...
1st week - read through store procedures, complete alcohol and tobacco online courses, and create/setup fake convenience store at division office to train RAM's and NA's on register, upkeeps, and DAW's (all three DAWs - morning, day, evening).
2nd week - work side by side with managers and show them how to do various tasks (at the register, on the floor, in the kitchen, at the pump, and behind the scenes)
3rd week - work side by side and watch your managers perform (be there for questions, don't just give them directions)

Continue being the best convenience store out there! :) Thank you for the opportunity to work for you, I'm sorry I wasn't the best fit for you. But I am extremely thankful for all of the work your team does to make the stores run smoothly. I will forever be a QT customer!
