      Pros

Overall, my experience was decent. Decent work culture, but it varied heavily by department. Pretty small teams so you had a lot of work that kept you busy and made you learn/stay organized.

      Cons

There's been so many upper management changes due to the instability of the company and market place. It seems like upper management is still trying to figure out what to do to survive. The lack of policy, processes, and accountability is astounding for a company generating as much money as they do. The disorganization among all department is a fair representation of the current state of the company. Departments lack clear and basic communication skills to effectively run operations and generate revenue. Lastly, there's very little room for advancement. There's no clearly defined org chart, which makes everything more complicated.

Only take the job as a last resort and keep looking even if you are hired.

      Pros

Very little to speak of other than the liberal PTO schedule after 3 years of employment.

      Cons

Horrible pay. Expectations of the employees are not nearly commensurate with the salaries. Upper management attempts to bribe their employees with worthless stock options (just check the historical track record) while selling their own options as soon as they vest (can be confirmed on any financial site). Management promotes and shelters their favorites even though they are inept in their roles. They also squash any constructive criticism and dissension. Management goes out of their way to advertise their "company values" (printed wall placards everywhere you turn) yet they are merely window dressing and not upheld or committed to.

      Pros

Bright people, great place to learn, laid back environment, stable company, fair compensation

      Cons

Cultural problems stem from out of touch upper management and favoritism

      Company Culture not Company Wide

May 16, 2013 - Anonymous Employee in Foster City, CA

      Pros

      - Intelligent individuals who are passionate about their work (until they get worn down) - Free snacks/lunches - Free parking (in a company garage) - Flexible working hours (work from home, etc.) - Cool company party at the end of the year

      Cons

** The cool company culture that resides in specific verticals/departments do not extend throughout the whole company. Hence, the reviews here can be very well all over the board.** - Interns and associates don't get compensated very well. Interns with a bachelors degree come on-board for $10-$12/hr for the first 3 months before being considered for a salaried position as an associate - Been through 3 rounds of layoffs in my 2 year tenure. Company not doing great despite all the optimism upper management tries to spoon feed you - very little transparency - No career growth. Layoffs mean less people to do more work. Additionally, the focus is now on maintaining business operations not on your career/interests - If you don't suck up, you don't belong here. If you don't agree with all the decisions upper management makes, you will get an immense amount of push back with your work - Upper management do not participate in the daily grind of operations yet they make all the high level decisions that impact operations in ways they do not understand - Upper management is reactive NOT proactive about technological support/updates - if you want to work with a system that is constantly broken, try Quinstreet - Upper management does not see the employee retention problem - when individuals leave, management tends not to listen or absorb the reasons people are leaving. The mentality is that individuals who leave just don't have it in them to continue; that, is the wrong mentality to have

Great place to learn, but outdated practices and lacking in direction and security

      Pros

      - lot of opportunities to build different skill sets - bagels on Tuesdays, break room always has snacks/drinks - clean, casual work environment with friendly/smart coworkers

      Cons

      - lack of transparency between upper management and lower management; leads to job insecurity and confusion about the direction of projects - outdated software and inefficient practices slow down the pipeline and make improvements/changes difficult - pay is below industry average

Mass layoffs make it harder on everyone

Jan 13, 2017 - Anonymous Employee in Foster City, CA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

There are some genuinely smart and helpful people at the company. HR tries to make a more fun company culture.

      Cons

The company is constantly doing layoffs due to poor performance, which leaves the entire company future questionable. In addition to obviously making it difficult for those who are laid off, the layoffs also decrease morale and leave the remaining employees scrambling to get the same amount of work done with less manpower. There is no transparency among upper management, and it's clear that the company, at least as a whole, does not value the employees as much as stockholders.

      Lower management

      Pros

They're good at picking out really friendly entry level employees. It's easy to make lasting friendships. Many different schedules to choose from.

      Cons

While entry level employees and lower management seem carefully chosen for friendly qualities, upper management most certainly is not. I've never been more disrespected and chastised by an authority figure in my life than i was by one of the "team lead managers" at the oregon location. On several occasions she abused her power, made my employees cry, and despite the fact that i didnt report to her harrassed and verbally abused me multiple times. I even had to involve HR several times and request HR investigations on myself and my preformance to shut down lies and rumors she would start. They'll make a lot of promises about raises, promotions and bonuses, but you're going to have to fight for them. Even a written offer of promotion doesnt mean anything, 3 other people were given a promotion that was already promised in writing to me before i left.

      More communication needed among team

      Pros

Compensation is great. Flexible work environment.

      Cons

Communication between upper management and employees are minimal and need improvement. Too much analysis done, instead of execution. Too engrossed with the numbers. Outlook of company does not look great, so overall optimism and spirit within the company needs to be picked up to improve the company overall.
